- Lemon Cream Cheese Mousse, Almond Crumble, Mixed Berry Compote
The dish turned out exactly as described. Strong lemon flavour from the mousse paired very well with the sweet almond crumble topping and base. The mousse was not too thick and very refreshing as well. However, the berry compote was literally ice-cold, bit into pieces of half-frozen berries and was a tad bit too tangy. So while it worked well with the almond crumble as well, when eating all the elements together, felt that the tartness feom the berries overwhelmed the dessert.
Taste: 7.5/10 (A unique dessert that is worth trying)

Served medium
- House blend beef patty, Glazed bacon chop, Mushrooms, BBQ sauce, Fries, Slaw
The Slaw had lots of mayo which may get a bit filling/'jelat' after awhile.
The fries were crispy and above average. I don't really eat fries but I didn't mind nibbling on some of these. They were not overly salted as well.
The burger came with a thick and juicy beef patty but when I bit into it, it was surprisingly flat and lacked much flavour. I would say for the beef patty alone, it's below average, at least based on what I've tried thus far. The brioche bun, whilst fluffy, could have been grilled/toasted slightly longer to make it crisp on the outside. Nevertheless, the sweet and tangy BBQ sauce, really THICK cuts (think the better word would be slabs) of bacon were really good. I felt like I was eating Western-style braised pork belly/kakuni. :)
Overall, it's a good burger but the main component (beef patty), was slightly lacklustre.

- Guacamole of tomatoes and corn, Poached eggs, Sourdough, Baby Radish, Furikake
This was very clean tasting with creamy avocados and very well-cooked poached eggs. I particularly liked the sourdough, remaining a bit of crunch and crispiness though it had soaked up the juices from the avocados and the egg. (First time trying avocado toast)

- Croissant, Halloumi, Honey Mustard Mayo, Scrambled Eggs, Mesclun Salad
Croissant was really buttery and crispy. Paired with fluffy and creamy scrambled eggs as well as a fantastic smoked salmon felt that the halloumi's mild flavours may have been overwhelmed by the other elements though. The honey mustard mayo was a great addition to the dish as its tanginess helped to cut through the heavier/stronger flavours from the croissant, salmon and even the eggs.
The salad was very refreshing and light as well, topped off with a simple but refreshing squeeze of a lemon.
Taste: 8/10 (Simple but well-executed, Worth trying)

'Red Peppers, Tomatoes, Two eggs, Mushrooms (Instead of Salsicca pork sausage), Feta cheese, Chives, Hokkaido Brioche'

Sauce is of thin consistency with strong tomato flavour, huge chunks of mushrooms and a hint of saltishness from the feta cheese. It was also savoury and slightly peppery, complementing the sweet and tangy tomato sauce.
Hokkaido brioche was crisp and crunchy on the outside but moving nearer towards the middle, it could have been more fluffy and airy (Was dense and chewy). Overall, lots of flavour just not something that I will eat.
Taste: 6.5/10

Huge slabs of sweet and saltish candied bacon were placed on top 2 thick pieces of pancakes before being wrapped in cheese. The rich porky bacon complemented the light grilled cheese very well. The bacon was very caramelised and was nicely charred. Below the pancakes was a piece of fried egg and surrounding the entire dish was a layer of grated parmesan cheese. Small portion of maple syrup was also served at the side for an added sweetness to the savoury dish. Overall, all the flavours worked really well with one another and though it is definitely a very sinful dish, it was immensely satisfying. My only gripe would be that the pancakes here are a bit too dense.
Taste: 9.5/10 (For immense satisfaction)

Chicken & Waffles ($19)
'Crispy chicken thigh on waffle with maple syrup served on side (30ml; ~2tbsp)'

The chicken smelled heavenly and was very crispy and crunchy on the outside while moist and tender on the inside. The batter was very fragrant and well-seasoned as well, not overly salted. Garnished with some chopped parsley, the chicken thigh was placed on a bed of cherry tomatoes, baby spinach, lettuce and almond flakes. The maple syrup came out quite strongly here but I don't think I'm quite a big fan of chicken & waffles as I don't find the flavours balancing one another out. Would have preferred a simple waffle with good maple syrup (Like the syrup given)
Taste: 8.5/10 (For the very moist and juicy chicken thigh)

Hot Chocolate ($5.50)
Very milky, cocoa powder is evident but would have preferred a thicker and darker version.
Taste: 6.5/10

Monkey King ($16)
'Banana cake chunks, caramelised bananas, toasted waffles, salted caramel sauce and vanilla ice cream (Some toasted walnuts on top of the vanilla ice cream)'

- Very sweet chunks of banana cake
- Waffles had the same slightly savoury buttermilk batter
- Vanilla ice cream did not have the strongest flavour but still very fragrant, specks of vanilla bean could be seen. This was definitely not as creamy as a gelato.
Though the salted caramel sauce here was already drizzled and seemed as though quite little was provided, it was very strong in taste and was able to cut through all the other sweet elements of the dish. The warm, mushy caramelised bananas was another plus, complementing the chilled ice cream really well.
Overall, there were lots of contrasting textures playing in your mouth and working in harmony - crumbly banana cake, mushy banana, fluffy moist waffles and ice cold creamy vanilla ice cream. Best item I've tried at the cafe.
Taste: 9.5/10

Chai Latte ($5.50)
Very aromatic with strong notes of cinnamon. The consistency is quite thick as well.
(Forgot to rate this at the time I drank it)

'Charcoal waffle, greek yogurt, peaches, strawberries, blueberries, banana, granola, pumpkin seeds, maple syrup, dusted with Icing Sugar'

Waffle was crisp and thick but could have been fluffier and more moist on the inside. Unlike their buttermilk version, this was way more crumbly causing it to crumble into pieces simply by attempting to cut it with a fork and a knife. I resulted to using a spoon and a fork.
The tiramisu gelato was really creamy and milky but would have liked a stronger espresso flavour.
Overall, its a good attempt to try to make waffles healthy but the ingredients do not complement one another. There needs to be a sweet sauce or gelato to make the waffle more moist and to complement the tartness from the fruits. The greek yogurt simply does not provide sufficient moisture unless the waffle was made more moist. All the elements on their own are good but together, they unfortunately do not complement one another and it wasn't a very satisfying dish.
Taste: 5/10 (Will not get it again)

- 'Banana infused into Belgian waffle, banana slices, walnuts, maple syrup, sea salt caramel sauce, accompanied with either vanilla or honey-scotch gelato'
- They ran out of the honey-scotch gelato :/
Sea salt caramel sauce was warm, thick, buttery, flavourful and sinfully delicious. Waffle was really thick - crisp on the outside, light and fluffy on the inside. However, I could not make out any banana supposedly infused into the waffle. The vanilla bean gelato had a very strong vanilla fragrance. I don't think it was as creamy as the one I had at Seasonal Tastes but the flavour was definitely stronger.
The sea salt caramel sauce helped to tie everything together by providing a distinct saltish contrast to all the other sweet elements of the dish - subtly sweet waffle batter, natural sweetness of the banana and the subtly sweet vanilla bean gelato. It also helped to prevent the waffle from becoming too dry after awhile. The walnuts were definitely not an afterthought as well, helping to add that earthy nutty notes and perhaps making you think that what you are eating may actually be good for you.
Taste: 9.5/10 (Really comforting dessert)

- 'Multi-grain toast with chunky peanut butter spread, bananas and walnuts. Served with maple syrup'
- Really thick peanut butter with some crunchy peanut bits
- Hearty thick cuts of firm and fresh bananas
- Thick wholemeal bread that was soft and fluffy but was a tad too dry
- You can see the drizzle of maple syrup on the sliced bananas but it was too little that you can hardly taste it
Price: 8/10
Taste: 8.5/10 (As I like peanut butter)
Overall: 8.5/10

Brulee French Toast ($18++)
- 'Brioche, Seasonal fresh fruits, Candied bacon, Chantilly cream'
- Came with blueberries, strawberries, pomegranate, slices of plum (Okay, not too sure if it was plum)
French toast was thick, sweet and had a hint of egg. Crisp and crunchy on the outside and moist and fluffy on the inside, it was not soggy at all. The brulee provided a great charred and sweet caramelisation. Would have been glad to eat this on its own but I am still thankful for the variety of toppings added...
The chantilly cream that came on the side was very light, fresh and only subtly sweet, providing a smooth and creamy contrast in texture. Meanwhile, the candied bacon (Which was very saltish on its own) provided an additional level of flavour through its sweet and saltish notes. Ending off with the sweet and tangy seasonal fruits helps to keep this dish from becoming too rich. Overall, all the elements of this dish worked in complete harmony and it was a very fulfilling and hearty meal.
Taste: 10/10 (Must-try, not sure how this could have been any better apart from giving a bigger portion size)

Black 5oz ($4++)
- Made with Colombian coffee beans
Don't really drink artisan coffee and am most certainly not a coffee expert but I absolutely love the coffee here. It was very fragrant, velvety and only slightly acidic.
Taste: 9/10
