This is a Chinese restaurant that was withstood the test of time. A friend told me she first had this dish in 1999, a second time in 2007, and seeing my IG story in 2019 made her crave for it all over again. It probably had that charm for me too - I didn’t think it was exceptional when I ate it, but seeing this photo made me crave for it now.

While a whole lobster cost £46 and a double portion of noodles for two were £6, the portions were generous. It’s a large lobster, with flesh sufficient for the two of us. The noodles were like mee kia, but cooked al dente like sang mee. Everything was then drenched in the savoury gooey sauce.

So while I didn’t think this was really that great, I’ll definitely come back for this the next time I’m in London.. because strangely I’m craving it now.

Lobster was juice and fresh.
Noodles were springy and good but as a Singaporean this was not as flavorful as expected as there was a lack of ‘wok hei’. Then again it’s a London restaurant so I might have been expecting too much haha

Super fresh lobster! And the noodles absorbs the essence from the lobster, ginger and onions is added to make it more fragrant. The noodles is well cooked and not soggy. This is a fav among locals and chinese!
