Vegan Ice Cream at Messina 🍦
Did not expect to see vegan ice cream here BUT reality proved me wrong 🤣 Their sorbets are all vegan 🥳 I got 2 scoops which are Salted Mango & Coconut and Pandan & Coconut. Definitely alot of coconut but its worth the try 😋 Service is 💯 as well.
One thing to note, they do serve non vegan options here. They have a list of ice creams which they will indicate if it contains Nuts, Gluten, Dairy, Egg, Soy or Alcohol👍 Pretty detailed!
Highly recommended for ice cream lovers, vegan or non vegan to visit. Just 5 minutes walk from Telok Ayer MRT station (DT18).
The line was long but once you finally get to the counter, it’s worth the wait. You will be greeted with a huge variety of flavours and even get to try a few tasters before deciding. I went with tau huey, tiramisu and pistachio praline. Tau huey was smooth and light, a playful nod to local flavour. Tiramisu had texture and richness while pistachio praline stood out with whole nuts giving that satisfying crunch.
What I loved most was that none of the flavours leaned too sweet. They were balanced, easy to enjoy and left me wanting to come back to explore more 》$14 / 3 Scoops
Came by on a Saturday at about 3pm and the queue was very manageable, at about a 15min wait. They have a wide range of flavours, both classic and unique (including locally-inspired!), and allowed for tastings so I guess that's why the line could move really slowly.
We got the Pistachio, Kaya Toast, and this Lemon Cake flavour that was a weekly special. First off, the texture of the gelato is really one of the better ones you can find in Singapore - thick and creamy! We were also wowed by the intense nuttiness of the pistachio, and pleasantly surprised at the kaya streaks and bread bits mixed into the coconut-ish kaya toast. And 3 scoops for just $12! This gelato parlour instantly became one of my top 5 ice cream spots. Well worth the wait (but do try to go at an odd timing to reduce your frustration levels).
