I've always pass by this particular shop lot row in Taipan but never noticed this restaurant, until one day.. and I decided to give it a try since I have quite big appetite for Nyonya food lately 😁

Decided to give the "Dried" Assam Siakap fish ("dried" is actually means fried fish! RM40). It's basically deep fried Siakap fish topped with those thick, savoury, tangy and sweet Nyonya Assam sauce with tomatoes, onions and chopped chillies. I never tried Assam Fried Fish before (as it's more common to have Assam steamed fish in most tai chau places) and don't know why but I was instantly sold off with the sauce, the taste combo is just perfect with the fried fish taste and its crunchy texture!

The staff also recommended to get their Petai Udang (RM17), they were kind enough to served "naked prawns" (they plucked off all the prawn's skin and tail before serving it, because sometimes you're just that lazy 😂). Loaded with lots of petai (stinky beans) all over, the prawn serving is really really little (I think only 4-5 pcs 😭). The sauce and the stinky beans were amazing but definitely the whole portion of the petai prawn serving was not worth the price 🙁

I chose stir fried potato leaves (RM12) for the dose of greens, nothing to shout about, just like an ordinary 'garlicky' stir fried potato leaves.
