Broccolini, Pancetta, Pumpkin, Smoked Mozzarella (SGD $28) @ Amò. This has the same signature pizza crust that is thinly crisp on the outside and doughy limp on the inside. . But we loved the bright and unique combination of ingredients, which resulted in a pleasant contrast of vegetal sweet salty savoury meaty flavour. . There's tender broccolini florets, chewy pancetta / salt-cured pork belly, creamy soft pumpkin, and smoked mozzarella cheese. Fairly addictive. . . . Amò More details in profile & blog

Cioffe / Frappe (SGD $Complimentary) @ Amò. Also known as Italian Bow Tie Cookies, these dessert pastries consist of deep-fried pasta dough (eggs, sugar, salt, all-purpose flour, oil), dusted with icing sugar. . They have a fragile, crisp texture that crunches softly, and a grainy bready sweet flavour. . . . Amò More details in profile & blog

Margherita DOP (SGD $25) @ Amò. This won our hearts with its clean-tasting, bright, simple vegetal sweet bready flavours. . Their signature pizza dough is made with natural leaven, semolina, a secret aged yeast starter, and extra virgin olive oil. . The result is a pizza crust with a beautiful, thin, crispy edge, however, the center tends to be soft, doughy, and limp, unable to support the ingredients. . In classic Italian style, this is garnished with fresh tender basil leaves, San Marzano tomato passata (which is light but juicy fresh), and creamy Denominazione Di Origine Protetta (DOP) buffalo mozzarella cheese. . The latter 2 ingredients (tomato and cheese) are imported from Campania, Italy, a region known for producing the best quality tomatoes and cheese. . . . Amò More details in profile & blog

Grilled Chicken ($19) Served with mashed potatoes, cuts of yellow melon/cucumber cubes and broccoli, topped with a tomato, the chicken thigh was well-marinated and glazed with vinaigrette-based sauce. The chicken thigh was slightly dry and less fresh; it tasted like breast meat somehow, probably overcooked. Good ambience with nice background music but not good food. ):

Love barbecued food but hate the preparation/grilling like me? - Cocobolo Poolside Bar + Grill at Park Hotel Clarke Quay might just be the best, fuss-free option to satisfy your BBQ cravings. - Indulge in a sumptuous BBQ buffet featuring premium meats like Australian Rack of Lamb (pictured above), N.Z. Angus Steak and U.S. Baby Back Ribs, alongside grilled seafood, array of appetizers and sweet treats. - My favourites gotta be the lamb rack, baby back ribs, tiger prawns, squid and grilled pineapple! I like how the meats/seafood are grilled a la minute and that you can actually request your meats to be grilled to your preferred level of doneness. And those sexy grill lines on the meats make them look exceptionally inviting. Haha! - What's more, dining by the pool means there might be bikini babes/hunks with chiseled abs to look at! Feast for the eyes (and tummy)! hahaha. In case you are wondering, nope, we didn't get to see any eye candy that day. Boo. Then again, who knows you might be lucky? - Cocobolo Poolside Bar+Grill Weekend BBQ Buffet Dinner Every Friday to Sunday 6:30PM to 10:30PM $57++ per adult* $28.50++ per child (6-12 years old) *Price includes a glass of draft beer

Oyako Pan To be honest, I was semi-skeptical about Grids & Circles as the menu looks super healthy (yes I have a somewhat unhealthy palate)😛 But since I have been overeating this week and there is a one-for-one deal on Burpple Beyond, why not? The Oyako Pan ($15) exceeded my expectations! Tender and juicy chicken thigh cooked in teriyaki sauce, silky scrambled eggs and Asian salad dressed in kombu mayo are served atop English muffins - the mayo and teriyaki sauce complemented each other and it was surprisingly tasty. For records, Oyako Pan is served with mixed greens as well but I replaced mine with a 2nd serving of chips:P My friend had Salmon Ochasuke ($16) which comprises of a pan-fried salmon fillet on top of rice, white bait, puff rice and cherry tomatoes. You have to pour the bacon genmaicha dashi broth over the rice to complete the porridge. The flavours are clean and subtle, but not bland. The cafe, from its decor to utensils to vibes, is comfortable and relaxing. Not a bad choice if you wish to get away from the crowd for a mental and gastronomical detox.

Disappointing Brunch Ordered the French Toast ($15++), DIY Bfast w/ Hashbrown ($19++) and Lavender Latte ($5.50++). Intended to use Burpple Beyond but take note that they have quite a few restrictions, and DIY bfast is excluded from Burpple Beyond as well. One word for all the food: mediocre. DIY bfast was vvvvv meh and tasted like smth you can get anywhere else; not worth the price at all. French toast was nicer but the toast was soggy in itself (i.e. not browned enough either), and ice cream tasted v cheap 😅 Lavender Latte was probably the worst of all. The staff informed me that it would only be lavender and milk, and I would have to add on a shot of espresso if I wanted. I didn’t opt for that and the drink tasted like plain water. It was SO diluted I couldn’t even taste any milk OR lavender at all? Saving grace was that the staff were v nice and still explained to us about the burpple restrictions. But other than that, I would say.... the food isn’t worth the price.
