Grilled Chicken ($19) Served with mashed potatoes, cuts of yellow melon/cucumber cubes and broccoli, topped with a tomato, the chicken thigh was well-marinated and glazed with vinaigrette-based sauce. The chicken thigh was slightly dry and less fresh; it tasted like breast meat somehow, probably overcooked. Good ambience with nice background music but not good food. ):

BBQ Buffet ($68) As night falls, enjoy a feast of barbeque buffet under the starry starry sky with highlights such as Australian Lamb Rack and NZ Angus Steak from the meat section, Cajun-spiced Prawns, Tumeric-laced Squid and Grilled Mackerel in Banana Leaf from the seafood section. Love barbecued food but hate the preparation/grilling like me? - Cocobolo Poolside Bar + Grill at Park Hotel Clarke Quay might just be the best, fuss-free option to satisfy your BBQ cravings. - Indulge in a sumptuous BBQ buffet featuring premium meats like Australian Rack of Lamb (pictured above), N.Z. Angus Steak and U.S. Baby Back Ribs, alongside grilled seafood, array of appetizers and sweet treats. - My favourites gotta be the lamb rack, baby back ribs, tiger prawns, squid and grilled pineapple! I like how the meats/seafood are grilled a la minute and that you can actually request your meats to be grilled to your preferred level of doneness. And those sexy grill lines on the meats make them look exceptionally inviting. Haha! - What's more, dining by the pool means there might be bikini babes/hunks with chiseled abs to look at! Feast for the eyes (and tummy)! hahaha. In case you are wondering, nope, we didn't get to see any eye candy that day. Boo. NEW DISH: Cuttlefish Tagliolini Halfway through dinner, Head Chef Jordi came by our table to let us have a sneak peek and taste of a new dish he鈥檚 launching this coming week at FOC Restaurant on Hongkong Street. What looks like noodles is actually cuttlefish cut into strips, and having been charcoal-grilled in the Josper, waft with a really lovely smokiness. Like a supermodel in the VVIP section of a club, they lounge oh-so-casually on a bed of green pea hummus that I actually found enjoyable despite not being a fan of peas by nature.

Fantastic Grilled Iberico Pork Ribs ($36++) No photo can do this enough justice. But if you are like me and adore pork, you need to get yourself a platter of the Grilled Iberico Pork Ribs at FOC. The meat-on-bone is charcoal-grilled in the Josper, so a crazy beautiful smokiness envelopes the incredibly juicy, tender and very flavourful pork. Not that you need anything else because that鈥檚 heaven right there but the smoked pumpkin pur茅e it comes with, is spot-on too. Each order of the ribs is hefty, so unless you are a protein fiend, I reckon it is more ideal for sharing. Six of us were able to take a small portion each last night but we did order many other items as well.

Spanish Style French Toast ($12++) Far from your typical French Toast, FOC does theirs with a Spanish flair. The fat puffy oblongs are pumped full of custard and fried to a gorgeous golden-brown. They are then coated in fine sugar and cinnamon powder before being served with housemade vanilla bean ice-cream. This is the kind of dessert that makes you think 鈥渙h, that鈥檚 too much鈥 when you read about it in the menu but the moment you take a bite of it, something magical happens and in a matter of moments, you鈥檒l find yourself staring at an empty plate.

Finally checked out 8 Korean BBQ the other day when we wanted to have some Korean food! Didn鈥檛 manage to try the beef, but the perks do come in pretty fancy marinated flavours like red wine. Go for the pork belly, while the pork collar is pretty tough.

The waiter recommended to us these 4 flavours to try and they鈥檙e really not bad! Their service was also pretty good, grilling the pork belly for us and making sure the pieces were cooked properly. We love the fattiness of the pork belly as the juices flow out with each bite. Out of the 4 flavours, our favorite were Garlic and Miso! When I think of authentic Korean BBQ restaurants in Singapore, @8koreanbbq will always be one of them that pops up in my mind. Hence, on National Day night when everyone was gluing their eyes on the television screen waiting for the Red Lions, singing along to the National Day songs or camping at some vantage point to catch a glimpse of the fireworks, I was out experiencing my own fireworks鈥 moment at 8 Korean BBQ. 鈥 If you have been to 8 Korean BBQ, you will definitely not miss out ordering their Mangalitza pork set. Besides the 4 or 8 Colours Set, you can also get the Flower Pork Set ($68), which comes with flower pork belly, pork neck steak and pork jowl, the three best parts that you could have asked for from the Mangalitza Hog. Each set also comes with kimchi, bean sprouts and a seafood bean paste stew for 2-3 pax. You would have noticed that both the kimchi and bean sprouts are placed on the grill pan and the plate is tilted slightly to allow all the oily goodness from grilling the meat to flow down to the kimchi and bean sprouts to further enhance the flavours. Chope is featuring Unagi as the dish for the month of May! We got to try the Unagi Gozen at @unagiyaichinoji which comes with unagi chawanmunshi, pickled vegetables, bean sprouts and soup. Greeted with a warm smile by the staff, the restaurant boasts a cozy space with warm lighting that鈥檚 great for group gatherings and date nights. The eel鈥檚 skin was a little crispy and the char on it was perfect. Best part is that it didn鈥檛 compromise the tenderness of the eel. There are also seats in front of the cooking station where you could see the unagi being grilled to satisfaction. Really enjoyed the experience there as a customer and we would be back again for their Hitsumabushi! #ChopeSG #DishOfTheMonth

Unagi Hitsumabushi [L] ($38.80). I opted for the large set because why not? The eel was unbelievably soft and tender while the skin was slightly crisp and that is due to the Kanto style of cooking i.e. 鈥渢he eel is first grilled, then steamed for 15 mins, and then grilled again before serving.鈥 (As mentioned by @ieatishootipost). This definitely hit the spot after an evening jog!
