A chill location for a nice dinner with my partner. Totally recommend the Kani Miso which has a burst of umami flavour with every bite! Ponzu Beef was a great appetizer as well!

For the mains, we had the Spicy Salmon Don and the Beef tongue which both ticked the mark for a wonderful dinner out!

LTried a bit of everything on the menu, and the standout was definitely the flavorful Kani miso baked dish—such an explosion of enticing flavors. The squid with ink batter was another highlight, absolutely delicious! Overall, a thoroughly satisfying and enjoyable dining experience.

For dinner, we had a few dishes - we ordered their signature beef as well as some skewers. The pork and wagyu beef skewers in particular were very juicy - I really like the teriyaki sauce, and preferred it over the salt seasoning (you get to choose which you like!). We also had the aburi saba, which was quite delicious - the wasabi undercut the vinegar so the flavour wasn't too overpowering. I would really love to see a pork don in the menu next time!

Really comfortable and enjoyable experience. Servers were really friendly and helpful, offered to immediately replace a kushiyaki skewer that accidentally fell off the plate. Food came quickly and smoothly, didn't feel like my eating was interrupted.

Highly recommend the Rosti Mentai, it's a really delicious option :)

Great food, great atmosphere. Service crew were friendly and knowledgeable. Tuna was fresh and served on a cold plate. Would recommend the Gyuniku Jaga(beef and potato stew) as its hearty and warms you up on a cold day.

Food tastes amazing and unique, although portions are on the smaller side. Excellent and fast service. Staff is knowledgeable and helpful. Overall, my experience was wonderful.

I recommend getting Gyuniku jaga (Beef and potato stew)! A good, hearty dish on a cold day.

Gyu Ponzu:
Cold beef slices marinated in ponzu. as an appetiser, this was a tangy and refreshing start to our meal. The citrusy ponzu marinate was the best option to pair with thinly sliced premium beef.

Aburi Shimesaba: We loved this! Torched vinegared mackeral. the fish was super chewy and fresh. The vinegar marinade gave it a tangy zing that made each piece really addictive. This dish stood out the most!

all the food were served very quickly and we're impressed by the customer service!

gyu don:

The thinly sliced beef and onions cooked in that flavorful sauce are just mouthwatering, especially when paired with the fluffy rice.

The owner told me they were serving this at only $5++ during lunch hours, which is super cheap for the quality. I would highly recommend checking out their lunch promotions if you're in the area.

tori kara-age:

The crispy, golden-brown chicken pieces were nicely complemented with a special in-house sauce ('tartar'?). We also squeezed some fresh lemon on top to elevate the flavours.

salmon don and fried shrimp were well seasoned and tasty, though food portions are on the smaller side. lovely service and ambience, very attentive staff!😃

Affordable and authentic Japanese food. Portion size was great for the money that you’re paying, truly a bang for your buck! Really enjoyed the beef with potatoes stew and gyudon that was served piping hot

A great option for tasty and authentic Japanese fare with hard-to-find dishes available on their menu! Particularly enjoyed the negitoro don here – it had a great mix of lean and fatty tuna, was seasoned well and had great texture. Loved the mentaiko salmon sushi and the mentaiko crab gratin as well! Service was very prompt as well, was shown to our tables and served food very quickly.

nice cozy place to dine at, food was pretty good! the garlic fried rice was rly fragrant and the mentaiko crab is a must try!

Had a delightful experience here. The atmosphere was casual with authentic Japanese decor. The standout for me was the mentaiko crab, which was creamy and flavorful.

Service was attentive and friendly, adding to the overall excellent dining experience. Highly recommended for anyone craving genuine Japanese cuisine.

shukuu izakaya

oden was v comforting with the warm clear soup filled with natural sweetness and love the unlimited soup refills!

crab gratin with mentaiko is perf for mentaiko lovers - sauce was rich, creamy with slight char, kinda close to genki’s one

fried chicken skin was super crispy and a perf side dish paired with alcohol, chef’s kiss with mayo

lastly, mini tuna don was fresh and pretty tasty with every bite of soya sauce dipped rice grains + crunchy tobiko tho am normally not a huge fan of tuna

Def a gem in the city for dinner gatherings after work! Food was served promptly and the staff were very nice to share more abt the diff types of sake. Would recommend the pork jowl and mentai dishes. The onsen egg was delicious and mentaiko was torched just right.

The Pork Jowl Charshu definitely surprised my taste buds with the tenderness of the meat and the right amount of fat going along with the meat to make it all juicy and nice. The sauce really enhanced the flavour and I love that it went along with the Onsen Egg to neutralise the flavours and make it really palatable. The Gyu Don did not disappoint as well, with the texture of the meat just right and easy to consume and the taste enhanced with the sauce, though I would love to have an Onsen Egg to go with it as well. The Rösti Mentai was okay, the Mentai was torched and tasty but I would have loved it even more if the potato slices were a bit more roasted to give it a bit more crisp as compared to an undercooked texture. Overall a good experience dining there with a nice ambience too! 😊

Famous for their sake!! but we went for food and the staff were really friendly and helpful! I enjoyed the mentai rosti and would recommend that. the Tori Kara-Age was good too! Nice place to hang out with colleagues and friends or even solo.

Upon stepping into the restaurant, the deco and atmosphere felt very authentic. We ordered the mentaiko rosti, parmasan chips, kaarage chicken, and ponzu beef. I love all of them but my personal favourite was the parmasan chips. It was served with honey and tomatos. Its a smart idea to pair savoury (cheese) and sweet (tomatoes and honey) together! In addition, the acidity of the tomatoes also cut through the fattiness of the cheese and oil. Waiter was also vert attentive and kept coming over to check on our food/water. Highly recommend :)

Great atmosphere and the staffs were prompt and efficient in serving us food. Food served was tasty as well. Ordered the chicken bites, guy don, river prawns, chicken meatballs and garlic fried rice. Didn’t expect the river prawns to be so small but they were deep fried and crunchy. Loved it more than I expected.

My favourite was the big and crispy chicken bites
