New Japanese dining place with casual vibe and classy food presentation. It was an elevated experience with the Takeshi Kaidan Set ($26) as each premium sushi piece was displayed on steps. At the top was a piece of gorgeous marbled tuna draped over pressed Japanese rice and the tuna simply melted in my mouth. The scallop was large too that it was satisfying in one bite. Opt for a variety and order the Sake Tasting Set ($12) that consisted of three different sakes served in beautiful ceramic cups, which has a koi fish swimming in it. Overall an elegant and refreshing evening.🍶🍣

Next were the Takeshi Kaidan & Salmon Kaidan Sets which were beautifully presented in flight of stairs! Taste wise, these sushis don’t disappoint too, you can really taste the freshness and quality in each piece of sushi!

Located along Lorong Mambong, this restaurant serving up authentic and fresh sushi, sashimi and japanese cuisine is just a few minutes away from the Holland Village MRT. Bring your group of mentaiko-loving friends and order up the Aburi Mentai Set ($22), Supreme Unagi Roll ($17), Uni Foie Gras Roll ($26) and Mini Aburi Salmon Foie Gras Chirashi Don ($30) over a round of sake.

Recently visited Takeshi-San, a newly opened Japanese restaurant located at Holland Village (opposite Wala Wala). The standout dish among those that I tried was the A5 Wagyu Truffled Inaniwa Udon. It featured A5 Miyazaki beef that was so tender, flavourful and juicy, served together with Inaniwa Udon that was really smooth, and coated with aromatic truffle cream sauce and an onsen egg for that extra creamy texture!

Total cost for 2 rolls: $20 (incld gst and svc, 1-for-1 price)

mentai salmon roll: 8/10
a safe and yummy option for mentaiko lovers :~) there was a good amount of mentaiko sauce, making each bite very flavourful. the crispy tempura bits and avocado brought back the entire roll tgt well.

(for those who prefer lighter flavours, the mentaiko may be slightly too salty for ur liking)

supreme unagi roll: 7/10
unagi was fatty and tasty. note that the roll comes with a touch of spicy sauce, which has a slight kick. the cream cheese tasted a little unusual at first, however the more i ate it, the nicer it tasted :-) a good dish to try if u want to experience more unique flavours

🐽 nice dining environment, a good place to hang out w friends
