Fantastic dining experience and you can’t go wrong if you stick to the signature dishes. Standouts for me were the double roasted pork with chilli padi, Thai style fried chicken and sambal kangkong. Be prepared for long queues if you don’t have a reservation.

The Assam Tumis with stingray has the perfect balance of sourness and spice!

The chicken was crunchy and yet juicy. Coated with a sauce that was sweet, tangy and savory. Perfect combination!

It’s been a while since I’ve had a good Teochew steamed fish and this was absolutely fabulous. The fish and all that sauce was gone in a jiffy. All slurped up.

These were done just right and with the right amount of tamarind paste coating that will get you licking the shells first before devouring the juicy flesh inside. Really tasty and they reminded me of how my late grandma used to make them.

So smooth and wobbly, the texture was just sublime. We really enjoyed this.

Jokes aside, when nicely done with the right amount of sambal and wok hei, a humble kangkung belacan can be one of the best lauk (dishes) to go with a plate of steamed rice.

There was a long queue forming before the place opened at 6 pm and with good reason. The food is really good and rich with 'wok hei'. A must-visit in Penang.

Was greeted by a packed restaurant and organised chaos. But we managed to get a table eventually as we arrived at opening time! This place is definitely worth the trip as the food here was delicious. Some of the must order food were the double roasted pork with chilli padi (sticky and sweet, so good with rice!!), sambal kangkong (not oily and fried just right), Assam Tumis with stingray (amazing tangy sauce, usually they serve black pomfret). Do come down early to avoid the crowd!

Well, this inchi kabin came from the later. The uncle who took our orders said it’s turmeric fried chicken. Finger licking good

We promptly ordered their famous roast pork with chilli and given how quickly this large serving disappeared, we ordered another serving! Nicely caramelised with a good amount of heat. Sedap!

Highly recommend this place. Ingredients used were fresh and the dishes were superb. Last but not least, extremely value for money too

Must!! We ordered the sweet and tangy double roasted pork with chilli padi, fragrant dragon spinach, fresh assam prawn and steamed fish. Only. With rice and drinks, our bill came up to about RM100 only - would have ordered twice as much, it was a pity that my company wasn't hungry. But to be fair, they had 2 breakfasts before this lunch...whoever has 2 breakfasts right? Except when one is in Penang?

The fish and pork were my favorite. Wishing we had more time in Penang. Booking is a must. #burpple #foodporn #penang #teksen #foodphotography #eeeeats
