As compared to the main that I had, dessert was a more pleasant experience. The plums atop gave the dessert a tart flavour with a bit of a bite, though the cake was a tad dry though not overly dense (probably from being stored in the display fridge for a while). The entire slice carried a balance in terms of sweetness, and would probably do better if warmed up and served with a scoop of ice-cream.

Tried out this new cafe-cum-grocer at Perak Road that is situated near the exit of Rochor MRT Station. The menu here features more of local delights such as Rendang with Butter Rice, though they also serve mini burgers with coloured buns as well.

To be really honest, the entire dish was rather lackluster — I do understand that it's not a Thai eatery but the Thai Basil Minced Chicken didn't feel very integrated save the slight hint of basil within the meat. One particularly stark example was how the chili was simply strewn over the top instead of being stir-fried with everything else; it lacked a hint of spiciness, and the chili felt like a forgotten character in the entire show. It was also worth noting that the Butter Rice was an interesting addition; no doubt good by itself without being overly greasy with a hint of buttery fragrance, but I still would prefer white rice when it comes to enjoying the savoury flavours of Thai Basil Minced Chicken (maybe just being more of a purist here). Also, it's rather odd how the Thai Basil Minced Chicken itself came rather lukewarm as compared to the rice and sunny side-up that's served hot — something I found rather uninspiring overall.

PS: it's rather odd that the door doesn't really shut fully here and also opens with the slightest draft of wind — something I found rather distracting to the whole dining ambience of the place.
