Ah Pek is back after a short hiatus! During this time, I had this bowl of wanton noodles at the Tampines Round Market. The egg noodles here are springy and mixes well with the mixture of chilli and ketchup sauce. The chilli here looks unassuming but packs an incredible punch if you underestimate it. I also like how the stall lavishes each bowl generously with ingredients. The char siew here has a good fats to meat ratio and the wanton skin is thin enough that you could immediately taste the meat filling of the wanton with your first bite.

Usually closes around 12-1pm.. The noodles is springy and unique.. Not the typical factory 'mee kia.' Chilli is spicy.. It's sambal type but minus the sweetness. Char Siew, wanton and soup quite average.. Nothing out of the ordinary.. I guess the fusion of the noodles and the sauce is what sets this noodles apart from the other wanton noodles.. But it was such a small portion, and we thought the black sauce was too overpowering salty. Between this or the kolo Mee, I prefer the kolo Mee! Hehe thanks to bf and bf sis bf for queueing (the kolo Mee's queue was around 10mins longer) , while all I did was sit and guard the table ๐

Itโs noodles, texture, taste and even bowl? seems to remain the same no matter how often I try. The son who takes over the father from time to time does a good job of replicating his dadโs work and i guess it only means we will have good quality Wanton noodles for a long time to come!

noodles taste the same everytime I'm here. Their noodles is more to the wet/soaked type although it's still has good texture. I like my noodles with ketchup and sambal chilli at the side. As their ketchup is slightly overkill , adding the heat from the chilli sort of feather the sweetness to give me my bowl of enjoyable wanton noodles!
