Founded in June 2007, this stall is a crowd favourite for its homely recipes and wallet-friendly meals.
.
Their rendition has chewy soft yellow egg noodles, spongy tofu bean curd, crisp bean sprouts, bouncy hard boiled chicken egg, crisp green chili, and crisp fried shallots, combined for grainy sweet savoury earthy vegetal eggy salty spice flavour, so tasty.
.
The star is their award-winning gravy, a blend of mashed sweet potato, fermented soy bean paste, and house spices. It's thick creamy smooth, with bright sweet savoury earthy salty spice flavour.
.
A dash of lime juice lends zesty sour tangy flavour. The delicious gravy coats all the ingredients well.

Apparently named one of the best mee rebus in Singapore according to “City Hawker Food Hunt 2017”, the sauce was slightly tastier than from your average Malay food stall, boasting a subtly sweet and roasty flavour that was quite complementary to its smooth, creamy consistency. Also, thr fried tofu cubes were squeaky on the outside and a little salty, just the way I like them. Avoid adding on the stodgy begedil though.

Taste: 3/5
Yok Mari Yok has been in the Marine Parade Central food centre even before the major refurbishment. It is back at the exact same spot.

I have always enjoyed their mee rebus. If memory serves me right, the older version was slightly more peanutty, gravy atad thicker and less spicy. The new improved one is less peanutty, lighter consistency but bears a lingering spicy kick.

It is somewhat like a crossbreed between a mee rebus and a meesiam but without the tangy mouthfeel. Actually, I quite liked it.
