Two bowls of of pasta plus appetiser.
Alfredo & Aligio oilo pasta plus Polpette.
What a surprise when we first first ate the pasta It was sweet.
Something that is different from other pasta store.
My friend reserved a spot about a month in advance. We had No.4 ($15) and No.9 ($19) and they were vastly different in taste which made for two flavours good for sharing. I reckon No.4&5 are safe bets. Very very large portion and kept us full. (For scale size if one can’t picture how bit, imagine thosai/dosa).
Loving the good old unadon from Man Man Unagi. Lending quote from my bf because I’m having mind block: “Your one stop station for unagi”

Hokkaido Ikura Hitsumabushi $53.70++
Large Hitsumabushi $41.90++
Didn’t try their first launched version, but they’ve since reduced the cheesecake’s sweetness based on feedback received - I’m really glad they did!
The cheesiness and sweetness here were nicely balanced. It may seem heavy, but it was surprisingly light, smooth and creamy. I’ve only tried one other burnt cheesecake which was from Olivia Restaurant and Lounge just few doors down, but they’re both very different so it’s hard to compare. I’d still get this again! Other than the original, you can also find Matcha Burnt Cheesecake ($8) up on their menu.
I asked the waiter what was one of their most popular dishes and he pointed this baby out. This dish has a very generous serving of smoked duck; tasty and succulent. Beware of the spice level, it stands at 3 chillis and I even asked to tone it down BUT it was still spicy. Haha but worth the try and hella tastyyyy
PRICE: $4.50
WAITING TIME: 25 mins on a weekday around 2pm
REMARKS:
- huge piece of tender chicken breast meat
- too much bean sprouts for my liking
- the soup is good but unfortunately i kept comparing it to my favourite mee soto at Changi Village Hawker Centre
WILL WE EAT THIS AGAIN? Yes
Bathed in a scarlet glow thanks to the bright red awning above our heads, the food looks fiery hot. That isn’t far from the truth. I do find the dishes at “Rumah Makan Minang” to be more deliciously intense in flavour profile due to the amount of “rempah” (ground up spice pastes) used as compared to many other Nasi Padang places I’ve been to.
One of my favourite items to order whenever I spot it is “paru” (cow lungs). However the way they do it here can sometimes be a bit too hard and crunchy. In fact the last time I visited with my parents, we all feared for our teeth. Or maybe we are just getting old 😂
Iced strawberry tea with celery and nachos, the dip was pineapple salsa
It was refreshing but the portion could have been more, considering it was for two pax
Set per pax: $68
Thanks to #burpplebeyond got to try this Single Original platter. The chocolate brownies is good my husband finished the ice cream 😋
Single Origin Hot Chocolate :
88% Sur Del Lago - Very rich and thick hot cocoa with a very strong bitter aftertaste.
Single Origin Hot Chocolate : 75% Tanzania - Rich and thick cocoa, milder dark chocolate taste with a hint of nutty aftertaste.
For the burpple beyond deals only hot drinks is applicable.
The nest of fries, Maki rolls and unagi fried rice (wok hei!) are the best that we've tried. Their cocktails are fantastic as well. Skip the beef steak. It's too salty and not worth the price. Staffs are very friendly and always smiling. It was a very good and pleasant experience at Jypsy. Yes I will go back again to try other dishes.
