This La La Pao Fan is phenomenal. Deep, flavourful soup stock that’s paired with fresh clams. Rice is fried to a crisp before being dropped into a huge pot of piping hot soup stock.
Freakin mindblowing execution on the tricky protein. No gaminess, just juicy flavour from great execution.
It’s a mini baked potato, with vestiges of smooth sour cream and heavenly simple carbohydrate❤️
This Mapo Tofu Bowl is numbs the tongue and brings just enough spice to whet your appetite. I loved the peppercorns and how good the minced meat is. Add warm rice underneath, and we’ve got a winner for all spice lovers!
I must say this takes the cake at Aburiya, and I’ve ordered this every time I’ve returned. I’m looking forward to my next meal there!
I downed this Frozen sake after a very sweaty walk down to Boat Quay and it was panacea to my pain. 😍
Loved the firmness of the prawn, and that generously savoury salted egg yolk!
The secret, hidden ingredient? Bacon jam! It’s made from an amazing combination of bacon, balsamic vinegar, red wine, amongst many other ingredients, and gives the whole burger this addictive sweetness.

These are simply epic skewers of Wagyu Karubi (Ask for Tokusen Wagyu, $5++ per stick) grilled to juicy perfection. The fat oozes out as you bite in, and it’s just tender enough to for you to just bite all the way through. I washed it down with saké, but you’re more than welcome to down it with an iced cold beer!

The meat holds moisture in spades, and the cheese imparts its expected extra flavour. There are no surprises here, only satisfaction.
Between this and the yuzu version, I lean a little more into this for the flavour that the cheese lends.
However... I will go back just to try the Tsukune without any sauces or toppings, just Okinawa salt, to see how the beef holds up by itself.

That sums up Long Qing’s Braised Pork Rice Bowl ($12). It’s definitely saucy, and that adds to the sumptuous comfort of warm rice and tender pork. I wolfed this down rather quickly, so you know this was gooooooooodddddd 😍
