This was pretty good! The beef was tender and flavourful. Topped up $1.50 for a lot of fluffy Japanese rice. The sauce is a little on the salty side, so you should probably mix well with the rice first.
Ugly photo but this was so good! The beef patty was delicious and the sauce + cheese + onions + pickles went really well with it. I’m normally not a pickle fan but the ones here were pretty nice. The bread was good too! Only thing is... it’s pretty messy to eat (or maybe I’m just very chor lor?)
Oh, and I originally wanted the December special but it wasn’t available. I’m not sure if it’s a weekday thing but I guess I’ll have to come back here again! (My wallet though)
The portion of pudding was generous for the price. The sweetness was just right and the almond flakes on top added a nice crunch to it.
The steak was pretty good and I really liked the wine sauce. I accidentally ordered this as medium instead of medium rare, but it wasn’t overly-tough.
I’d give the truffle fries a miss though. The fries were warm and tasted a bit greasy. Perhaps one of the other sides would suit this better.
For the price, I’m really happy with this and would come back more often if it wasn’t so far.
I actually like all the individual components of the dish - the truffle sauce, smoked salmon, the generous serving of mushrooms in the mac & cheese, and the mac & cheese itself. However, all that was just way too much for one dish and I didn’t really enjoy this.
The truffle fries here are great! The portion is very generous (which is good for sharing) and the truffle scent + flavour is distinct without being overpowering. The bits of cheese on top add a nice touch.
Can’t remember the name of this, but it’s a poached egg with bacon and mushrooms on top of a brioche and it was really good! It ended up being pricier than we expected (we forgot about the GST + service charge, plus they don’t have free water so you basically end up having to buy a drink), but we still enjoyed the food so we’ll be coming back. Just... not super often.
I’ve always loved cookie dough ice cream, so once I heard about Dohkie, I knew I’d be trying it eventually. The chocolate chip tastes like actual cookie dough, while the brownie tasted very chocolate-y - personally, I preferred the chocolate chip version. You definitely need to have this with ice cream, because the ice cream isn’t as sweet or jelat as the cookie dough. If there wasn’t any ice cream, I probably wouldn’t have been able to finish the cookie dough.
The first thing I noticed about this dish was the smell of truffles. The sauce was nice and cheesy, and the truffle oil went well with it - I ended up scraping the pan to get every last bit of sauce.
That said, I still think $15 is pricey, especially since it was a side (and not a big portion).
10/10 for presentation (it legit looks like a pear) but 5/10 for taste. The chocolate shell and the mousse wasn’t too bad, but the canned fruit inside tasted very weird (plastic-y???). We ended up not finishing this, sadly.
Got this when I was craving for something sweet - and it hit the spot. There’s a good amount of granola, bananas, grapes, berries, and even passionfruit! If you need a healthy, sweet treat, this is what you need
One of their Halloween flavours, this ice cream sounds disgusting but tastes delicious! It’s a chocolate malt (aka milo) ice cream with cookie dough. If you love the regular cookie dough ice cream flavour, you’ll love this too.
