Landed here in this conveyor belt sushi place in Medi-ya after our first round of dinner left us just a quarter full heh. Not exactly the most affordable around but worth it for us! Every plate was fresh (except I’d like better nori) and they have a really nice range of more unique choices here like Ika Natto ($2.80), Ika Mentai ($2.80), Tsubagai ($3.80), with prices from $1.80 per plate onwards.

They currently have a promotional price so this was around $9. And this surprisingly was much better than their signature chicken pot, coming with a really thick and rich collagen-y soup.

The Chicken Hot Pot features tender chicken served in a pot of signature broth. You can choose from 3 levels of spiciness, and add as much fresh vegetables and additional meats as you wish into the pot.

😊 but the soup base here is of great quality and fresh ingredients. Worthy of the price for a steamboat buffet.

While the mala was a bit too spicy for one of us, it was perfect for the spicy-loving other. Gloves are given to "battle" the messy crawfish-eating but that was part of the joy of pigging out on these lobsters

For Korean barbie with a yakitori-inspired twist, look to this cosy joint on Craig Road. Instead of sliced meats, Kko Chi Bar specialises in skewered meats, which you barbecue at the table over a charcoal fire. We like that the auto-rotating grill ensures the meats won't get overly charred on one side! There is a minimum amount of 10 skewers when you order off the a la carte menu, so for ease, we recommend that you take one of their sets instead. Set A ($45) is good for two to three diners, and offers a sizeable and varied selection of marinated meats and veggies. They also do chicken, pork, beef and lamb-specific sets (from $17 for 10 sticks), a less heavy alternative that may be more suited if you're popping by for after-work drinks and a bite. Beers start from $10; soju from $16.
Avg price: $25
