When done right, an afternoon tea for two can just be as romantic as an intimate dinner. Invite your date to the Majestic Hotel Kuala Lumpur for a lovely, English-style high tea, available daily from 3-6:30pm. Choose from three different areas to dine in — the cosy Drawing Room (RM68 per person), spacious Tea Lounge (RM48 per person) or the very popular Orchid Observatory (RM88 per person), which features walls of the gorgeous potted blooms. Get to know each other better while sharing a tea stand (two to share) laden with both sweet and savoury tea-riffic bites like sandwiches, scones and if you're lucky, kueh pie tee and samosas, along with free-flow tea or coffee. Take note that the food selection is the same across all three areas; you will be paying for the ambience. Reservations are necessary.

An unconventional yet innovative afternoon tea at Altitude by Austrian Chef Alexander Waschl. Those who wish to lounge in a relaxing ambience, high ceiling interior with glittery lightings and impressive backdrop of the city skyline might enjoy this sky high afternoon tea at the newly opened Banyan Tree KL.

Their afternoon tea set is served accordingly from Welcome(canapés), to Savoury and lastly Sweets. You can choose from a selection of Harney & Sons fine tea or coffee to pair with it. While the presentation seems promising, I find it lack of dept when it comes to taste and the portions were rather small like canapés for cocktails. I find their buttery mini scones quite good as they taste like the real deal but not satisfying enough since each of them is a bite size full.

Sweet items:
1. Briolette bites: Raspberries & Violet mousse cake with 35% glazed white chocolate.
2. Mango passion fruit explosion: Passionfruit mousse with mango jelly green tea sponge.
3. Strawberry etton mess: Pastry cream with fresh strawberries, strawberry sauce, coconut meringue almond sponge.
4. Cherry Choc: Cherry mousse with cherry jelly, almond sponge and sea salt choc Sablés.
5. Pistachio macaroons.
6. Teh tarik choux choux: Choux pastry filled with Teh tarik pastry cream, chocolate hazelnut Gianduja molten heart.
7. Classic plain mini scones and cranberry mini scones.

Price at RM94 nett per person.

I'm not a high tea person because the food is usually average. Since we were in the area we popped in for one of the most popular high teas in KL. Choice of tea (Darjeeling) or coffee only.

P/S Reservations a must on weekends, or you can try walking in around 4-430pm when people get fed up of eating tiny morsels of averageness.

Don’t let the crowds sway your intent to swing by Soylab. The desserts are made with non-GMO beans, sans preservatives or additives, so the wait for these yummy and good-for-you desserts is worth it. Go with the community-favourite Shuai Beancurd (RM9.50) that sees both the signature beancurd and soy milk served with two toppings — your choice runs from glutinous rice balls to grass jelly cubes. Purists will enjoy the Signature Soymilk drink (from RM7) with homemade sugar syrup.

Get spoiled for ice cream choice at the fairly new Crùme De La’ Crùme – flavours range over 15 hits, like Madagascar Ash and Pandan Kaya Toast (from RM10.90 each). To try a medley, the Tasting Platter (RM16.90) gives you four mini cones of any flavour. There are also lush, uniquely shaped ice cream cakes not to be missed – one resembles a dim sum basket! Chocolate fans, go with Burppler Joey Tin's rec for Da Bomb! (RM25), which combines 63 percent dark chocolate and Madagascar Ash ice cream with chocolate hazelnut praline ganache and gold almond crumble.

La vie en Rose (RM16)
So delicate and elegant...I'm falling in love with all the cakes here @xiaobycrustz.A small but nice & comfy place for hi tea with my favourite woman :) That's how a holiday should be. 😌

You can now feel a little happier in Happy Mansion thanks to Xiao by Crustz. The array of desserts here are seen through a rosy glass (hint: La Vie En Rose) and if the La Vie En Rose (RM16) and Earl Grey (RM15) doesn't give you a contented sigh, the adorable ceramic bunnies seated on the tables will.

Located at 51 East Coast Road, Joo Chiat, Singapore 428770. 🏆 Awarded Michelin Guide 2017! In such a cold weather, we are craving for a bowl of pipping hot and spicy Katong Laksa from our favourite 328 Katong Laksa to keep our tummy warm!! Their gravy is da bomb!!! It has a balance in taste n texture from all its ingredients of coconut milk, dried shrimp, some herbs and Chilli! It’s so good that we can finish up the entire bowl of gravy! Also their noodles are cut to short length so you doesn’t need a chopstick to eat, a spoon will do the job! Beside, we also like to eat along with their Grilled-in banana leaves otah! #hungryunicornsg #328katonglaksa #328katong #katonglaksa #laksa

Chicken was tender and slippery but what I liked was the sauce. Light but more umami than the normal chicken rice stalls

Many thanks to Michelin Guide Singapore for the gracious hosting and @burpple for the invite!
