Pretty wide variety of meat available (chicken, pork, beef) with unique flavours such as curry and herbal marinated meat, in addition to the usual unmarinated, black pepper, teriyaki... Not a fan of curry but herbal is not bad. They also have processed food like crabstick, hotdog, luncheon meat, veggies, mushrooms and kimchi, different types of sauces (ssamjang, red pepper sauce, sweet thai chili, doenjang etc), cooked food (tteokbokki, chives pancake, waffles). Cooked food was not to my liking, I prefer the bbq stuff.

As we used BB 1 for 1, we had to adhere to a 100 min time limit and were charged original price $29.90 + svc charge for 2 pax. Drinks was an additional $2.50 for free flow. Non-BB customers can get 20% off original price and there is no time limit.

Service staff are friendly and nice. :)

Total cost: $32.80 for 2 pax

Headed there for dinner but it is definitely more suited for drinks instead as there are only 8 mains (or large plates as they called it) available and when it gets dark, you can’t see your food much if you are seated near the sides (lighting is minimal and shine on the area near the bar instead).

The food took a pretty long time to come and when the steak reached me, I was slightly disappointed to know that it wasn’t hot/warm. Portion was big though!

Oops we took a piece or two before I took this photo hence the empty space in the middle.

Chewy grilled squid but the mentaiko sauce didn’t taste like the mentaiko sauce I was expecting... tasted more like mayo instead. :( Underwhelming and pricey dish which I will not order again.

This dish cannot be redeemed using BB as it is a seafood dish under Mains.

Tucked away in a corner of OC level 8, there were not many customers on a Thursday evening. Good place to eat and talk (they didn’t ask us to go even after we finished our meal).

Non-spicy sweet Thai laksa broth with flat boat noodles and a chicken thigh and some veggies (long beans, carrots). It’s decent but not wow or anything.

P/S: Restaurant doesn’t serve / has water.
P/P/S: Only Mains (those without seafood in it), Noodles/Pasta (excluding Tom Yum Soup Pasta Kang) and Rice sections are available for BB.

Not a fan of coffee but I think both are decent, not bad. Paid $7 for both drinks using BB 1 for 1. Wanted to go for either Matcha Latte or Avocado Milkshake but both were oos coincidentally. ;(

Small cafe tucked among the many shops at Hong Lim Complex. Wanted to try the tarts after looking at the reviews but there weren’t much choices available (no ondeh, orh nee, lemon meringue, hazelnut chocolate or milo which look so good from the photos) when we went on Saturday at 5pm. Will come back to try again!

- Shack Burger (behind) $9.20
Classic burger with a juicy patty

- Shack Stack (in front) $14.30
Shack Burger + crisp fried portobello mushroom filled with melted cheese = BOMBZ!!! Patty + mushroom went so well together it was mouth-gasm with every bite!

- Cheese Fries $5.90
As a fries lover, I love how these crinkle cut fries were hot, not very salty and smelt so good~ The cheese rocks!!!

We went on a Saturday at ~8.15pm. Queued for ~10 minutes and waited another ~10 minutes for our order. ^^

Love the chicken breast & homemade mashed potato combi! Chicken was tender, not dry at all and went so well with the potato. Interesting mix of hazelnut milk foam with it~

P/S: For BB, only 60 deg chicken breast, porky bowl and seafood aglio olio available to choose from the mains and only ice lemon tea and ginger lemonade available to choose from the drinks. Wish it could be extended to others as well...

However, the interior of the cafe is very aesthetically pleasing and one can easily spend the whole day there reading a book or just chilling!

The whole bowl was very flavourful, with the eggs, bacon, yakiniku sauce and japanese rice making a good combination. Plentiful of rice hence very filling but the bacon could be more generous.

Black Garlic Tonkotsu Ramen ($11.80, above) was not bad in terms of the noodles but my dining partner mentioned a bitter taste from the soup which was not fancied.

Beef Onsen Egg Curry Udon ($11.60, below) was yummy. I love the thick curry (not spicy at all) which went well with the udon, beef and egg. Wanted to try the Sanuki Beef Egg Udon at first but it was not available. :(

Can’t see much from the photo as we have loaded our bowls with lots of crunchy tempura bits, soft wakame and spring onions, which are self-service and FOC. Water is also self-service & FOC.

Best part- no GST & service charge so what you see is what you will pay. We paid $13.60 in total (inclusive of drinks not shown here, which was part of the deal) after utilizing BB 1 for 1- extremely worth for yummy and affordable Jap food!!

Bad quality photo as the restaurant was dark and I had to use flash to be able to see the food... A tad too spicy for my liking but there was a generous amount of chicken and I personally like linguine (which the sauce went well with).

Bought beef burger ($18) as well (shown in prev review) and bill came up to be $19.80 after utilizing BB 1 for 1 - very worth for a restaurant at Robertson Quay~ Will come back.

P/S: BB only applies to Main Dish & Pasta selection.

Food took a while to come despite the restaurant being very empty. Quiet ambience, and the beef burger was great! Beef patty was thick and juicy, goes well with the caramelized onions.

Bought spicy chicken carbonara ($18) as well (shown in next review) and bill came up to be $19.80 after utilizing BB 1 for 1 - very worth for a restaurant at Robertson Quay~ Will come back.

Bought 2 oreo cheese milk tea (paid $3.50 for both using BB 1 for 1) but was slightly disappointed as it wasn’t what I had expected. It was milk tea with a layer of cheese and a scatter of oreo bits (cant be seen in the photo) on the cheese, instead of what I thought it would be- even mix of oreo and milk tea (like the one at Ice Fork which was yummy). Couldn’t taste the oreo at all. :(
