According to the waiter, he explained that for Sakura chicken(s), farmers don't inject any chemicals into them just to make them grow fatter etc, which also means it's healthier for us. The soup was soooo fragrant and light, w a hint of peanut taste and there is zero bitterness of the ginseng taste in the soup and that bought me over. Chicken meat was tender as ever. I would recommend this if you want to order a soup to share.

YUMMIEST side dish of the day I feel. Vermicelli is soft, extraordinarily springy and it absorbed all the flavors present. Clam meat itself was fresh and had the QQ texture. I only had one, but the next time when I head back I'm gonna have at least two of it! Plus, this side is super affordable, must try if you're there!

When I was kid, I would always pester my dad to buy me their wanton mee for supper. The springy noodles coupled with their signature fragrant clear gravy is a mouth watering combination that would put wanton noodles straight into your list of favorite food. Their wanton is soft and cooked to perfection, the skin firm but not overly thick (I cringe whenever i see wantons with mushy frayed skins) and wrapped around a very tasty piece of meat. Deliciously flavorful and with a hint of sweetness, their steaming gravy needless to say is the star of the dish. The only complain i have of kok kee's wanton mee is that if you want to eat it, you will have to prepare to queue up with many other hungry fans.

Gravy is the star in this dish, personally I do not like overly dry hokkien mee. Its the best tasting hokkien fried prawn mee in my opinion and even I myself is surprised it'll be housed at Wisma Atria's foodcourt. My mom would take me here at times after her shopping because I would crave for it. Although the price is a little more expensive but its worth it considering the taste is there.

Satisfaction is the only word to describe the eating experience of this bak kut teh. My grandma used to cook dark colored bkt like this thus I'm very accustomed to it since young. There are very few places I know of that sells dark colored soup base bkt but this is the only which matched up to my expectations and reminds me of my grandma's cooking. Soup is sprinkled w lots of ingredients. My fav will be the pig liver, coupled w the soup it really enhances how flavorful and and wonderful it tastes. You do not have to burn a large hole in your pocket to have authentic and yummy bkt. Portion can easily serve a small family.

Best fried ice cream I've had so far. It doesn't have any revolting oil smell which some had due to the oil being reused too many times. The outer layer is crispy and warm, when the ice cream oozes out its just pure delightful. Vanilla ice cream used is also of quality which enhances the eating experience even more.

Old Place. Old Flavor. Old Memories.

Perhaps the last of such coffee shops that I'll ever see in Singapore. I love this place. A lot.

Here, you won't find 5 digit coffee machines neither will you find hipster barista. It's just aluminum pots and sock filters and uncle in his singlet and pyjamas bottom. What you can get for a total of $3.30 is kopi gu you (coffee with butter), a set of charcoal toasted kaya butter toast and super runny half boiled eggs. The best part? Experience like this is hard to come by and in my opinion, priceless.

Using old school charcoal burner, nothing has changed since hay days. Still selling at $2. I dare said one of the best, if not the best in Singapore. Nothing fancy, just plain great savoring laksa. Open 9am - 6pm, closed every 1st and 3rd Wed of the month. Verdict: 4.5/5 ;))

NUS students at the Kent Ridge campus may be all too familiar with Reedz but this is a GODSEND to us tucked away behind the Botanic Gardens. Here's my chicken salad ($5.90 nett) consisting of chunks of grilled chicken on a base of lettuce, and topped with capsicum, carrot, chickpeas, onions and feta (choice of cheddar, parmesan or feta). Somedays they have edamame too. You can choose the toppings you want, and I asked for extra capsicum and onion (hohoho) and left out the canned pineapple and orange. As for dressings, there are Caesar, Thai Mango Chili, South Asian and Balsamic Vinegar. I chose the Thai, which tasted just like Thai chili sauce so it wasn't that impressive. There's usually a decent portion of chicken, but a nice middle-aged uncle served me today and he gave me LOADS of chicken. Enough for 2 salads! Yup, so the point of this review is to look out for this friendly server when you visit Reedz ;) A minor gripe: oil from the chicken sometimes pools at the bottom of the bowl so you get some oily leaves urgh.
