The distinctive taste of this latte comes from Japanese soya sauce being mixed with caramel to create an unusual Asian-flavoured salty caramel. This is then blended with the medium roasted Supremo blend from Highlander Coffee. I find that the "shoyu" caramel rounds off the fine acidity of the coffee nicely without making it sweet, which is what other caramel flavours tend to do.
So sinful, but who cares? Look at that cheeseeeeee!!!
Next Door Deli owns Baguette situated at the Chevron House, which assures the quality of their Vietnamese baguettes here. The salad in the baguettes were juicy, crunchy and refreshing; replicating an achar-like taste to it. Coupled with ham and the marinated chicken, it's a savoury combination. What makes it more worth the money must be the sides that goes along with it; a Viet Chicken Wing that has a light lemongrass flavour which is crisp and juicy, and the Pork on Sugarcane which was packed with vegetables and chestnut for a crunch.
The Premium Brew is of Kenya Wakulima beans while The Featured Brew is of Panama Paso Ancho beans. Prefers The Featured Brew which has a berries & slight flowerly and slight acidic taste over The Premium Brew's stronger cherry and mire acidic taste. Personal preferrence.

Felt all holier-than-thou as I stood at the counter picking out six super healthy choices to go into my healthy spinach wrap with iron-rich baby spinach leaves. Hello quinoa, alfalfa sprout and beetroot. Nice to see you too dear carrot, edamame and egg. In you all go into my nice fat bolster of a vegetarian wrap. Gosh, eating here always makes me feel so smugly angelic! 😇
Their homemade Alfredo, a classic sauce made of parmesan cheese and butter, coats the al dente pasta thoroughly. It's boosted with ground black pepper, plump mushrooms and a cannot-go-wrong soft boiled egg. Swirl all of these together for a majorly appetising dish.
When you tasted them, you might get disappointed (wondering why is it so bland). It took skills to depend the braising time for the different ingredients. The age of the braising sauce also made a different.
When you saw a stall filled with braised meat and a grandma holding a chopping knife, slowly and carefully making her every single cut. How could I skip this stall??? Lai Xing Cooked Food (来兴熟食)

Buttery crust, light cream, variety of fresh fruits. I APPROVE! 😋🍴
Balzac Bistro offers two options per course for their set lunch and they all sound really interesting.
I picked the foie gras and duck terrine as my starter. But for reasons unknown, it was replaced with duck rillette today. Not that I'm complaining because it was tasty and attractively presented with toasted baguette, pickles and salad. The pan seared sea scallops dish was my choice of main course. Fresh and succulent, the scallops were accompanied by large meaty mushrooms on a bed of butter squash purée. I decided to close my meal on a sweet note of poached pear (which came cubed and still quite crunchy) and champagne sabayon.
The set lunch menu at Balzac is pretty good value in my view, especially with the house-made bread (served with butter plus a chickpea dip), and the atmospheric Parisian bistro decor thrown in.
