I stopped by Yeastside for lunch, and it was such a great choice. The place has a cozy vibe, and it was really cool watching them make the focaccia from scratch right in front of us.
Had the Smoked Salmon Burrata, and it was super tasty. The focaccia was perfectly crispy on the outside and soft inside, and the fresh smoked salmon with tomatoes was the perfect combo. Every bite was packed with flavour.
I also tried the Mentaiko Mac and Cheese, and it was really filling. The mentaiko added this rich, savoury punch to the creamy mac and cheese, which made it stand out from the usual version.
Overall, the meal was delicious and really satisfying. The drinks were great as well, had the matcha and hojicha foam series. The vibe was chill, and the staff were friendly. Can't wait to go back
Visited Tan Ser Seng Herbal Soup with my partner around 8pm, and even though they were getting ready to close, the staff still welcomed us in. I had the famous Ginseng Black Chicken Soup, which was deeply nourishing with a clean and aromatic herbal taste. The chicken was very tender, and it came with a generous portion. The Premier Fish Maw and Abalone Soup was boiled until thick and velvety, with a rich flavour in every sip.
The Claypot Turtle Soup was already sold out by the time we arrived, so I will try it on my next visit. We also had the Original Signature Jade Tofu, which had a crispy seaweed coating and soft tofu inside, and the Handmade Prawn Ball, which was bouncy, packed with ingredients, and very tasty. The yam rice was the hidden factor that brought everything together, soaking up the rich soup and adding a fragrant, comforting note to the meal.
Found this dim sum shop tucked away in the Kada building behind Maxwell MRT, right beside the hawker.
Tried the lunch set and it was really good value at $21. The handmade dim sums were the highlight, with the har gao packed with fresh crunchy prawns and the skin wasn't overly thick. The siew mai was bouncy with no overpowering pork taste. The spicy siew mai with prawn paste chilli was a surprise hit with a real punch of flavour.
It also came with sides like the baked char siew bao, pan fried dumplings and shrimp wrapped in crispy beancurd skin.
I added $3 for 3 huge grilled prawns to the paofan and it really gave the soup a lot of flavour.
The hot tea that came with the meal was tied everything nicely as well.
The Hongkong style noodles with deep fried pork had great texture and flavour.
A great lunch spot and definitely a must try if you are looking for authentic handmade dim sum near Maxwell MRT.
Definitely a must try kbbq spot near Maxwell MRT. The ribeye was grilled to juicy medium rare perfection and the pork belly was thick, without any gamey flavours.
The handmade banchan was super fresh, the steamed egg was light and fluffy, and even the side dishes like the soybean stew and cold noodles hit the spot.
Could definitely taste the freshness of each ingredient and the quality really shows. Although my partner and I ordered Ă la carte, we wished we had gone for the set, as it offers more variety. This place is definitely a must-try.
Visited Seng House on a weekday night and was impressed by both the cozy ambience and the food. We had the duck confit with gnocchi and asparagus. The duck was crisp on the outside, tender on the inside, and the gnocchi was surprisingly filling. The Crabmeat Carrot Cake was an absolute highlight, packed with crab, dried shrimp, and crunchy pork lard, all rich with wok hei.
Loved the side of house made chilli oil that added just the right amount of heat. The Mac and Cheese was creamy and indulgent, topped with a perfectly golden crust and fresh chives to cut through the richness. Everything was served in cast iron pans, keeping it warm till the last bite.
To round it off, we tried the Dream Matcha. Smooth matcha paired with sweet potato foam that blended beautifully. Creamy, earthy, and not too sweet.
Got the DIY dry spicy noodles with prawns and pork ribs and I loved it. The soup was packed with prawn flavour and it being served in a claypot kept it warm throughout the meal. The har cheong gai wings were super addictive and it was the best I’ve had.
Ngoh hiang platter had lots of variety, and the prawn cracker + tofu stayed crispy!
Found this place at a short walk away from City Hall Mrt near Capitol Theatre and was absolutely impressed by the ribeye. It was so juicy and the side dishes, black garlic mash potato and grilled brussel sprouts complimented the steak perfectly. Their signature cocktail "Heartland Signature" was savory, and the rum mixed with Gula Melaka and pandan was definitely an interesting flavor! Thoroughly impressed an would definitely be back to try their other signature cocktails.
Came here with my partner on a quiet weekday night and the food here was amazing. The staff’s were very attentive and put in lots of efforts to explain the menu and share a brief background about their food added a personal and welcoming touch. The warm and cozy setting made it an ideal spot for those seeking a quiet and relaxing space, perfect for a delightful evening. Their methods of fermentation, dry aging and cooking over the wood fire was amazing.
The sourdough bread with seasonal fermented butter was a perfect starter to our meal. The bread was well-toasted, with a crusty exterior, while the fermented butter’s tangy richness complemented the sourdough very well.
The maitake & pork was an amazing combination of textures and flavors. The pork was very tender and incredibly savory, while the crispy kale added a delightful crunch. The shio koji sauce provided an umami flavor that tied the dish together wonderfully.
The venison tenderloin was another highlight, as it was perfectly cooked and tender pairing beautifully with the sweet and creamy squash puree. The tart pickled blackberry and crispy broccolini added contrast, while the black olive dust and lacto-fermented blueberry bordelaise brought unexpected layers of complexity and intrigue.
The Wagyu picanha was super meaty and indulgent. The shio koji marinade enhanced the wagyu’s rich flavor, while the slow-roasted banana shallot added a subtle sweetness that complemented the meat’s tenderness.
The honey & yoghurt dessert was a refreshing and creative conclusion to the meal. The home made Greek yoghurt ice cream was luxuriously creamy, balanced by the airy pistachio sponge and strawberries. The olive oil snow and lacto-fermented strawberry honey added unique and surprising flavors, making the dessert a memorable finale.
Highly recommended for those who are looking for a relaxed dining experience and I am looking forward to returning to explore more of their incredible menu!
Came here to catch up with a group of friends and from the moment we arrived, it was clear that One Prawn & Co values quality and transparency in everything they do. The open kitchen added a unique charm, allowing us to watch the chefs in action as they carefully crafted each dish with precision. For items ordered by weight, such as the Dry-Aged Black Cod and the 16-Day Dry-Aged Kingfish with Pickled Papaya Slaw, the staff thoughtfully presented the seafood to us beforehand, showing its exact weight to ensure complete clarity. This small but meaningful gesture made us feel well-informed and valued.
We also tried the Prawn Toast with Aioli, which was perfectly crisp and bursting with flavor, and the Signature Fish Burger paired well with the homemade tartare sauce with a slight hint of yuzu. For dessert, the Pavlova was refreshing with tropical fruits pairing well with the lime mousse, while the Smoked Ice Cream offered a creative and indulgent end to the meal.
Market Bistro provided a cozy and inviting atmosphere, perfect for a weekday dinner date. Came with my partner for dinner after work and we both loved the fried camembert cheese and baby squid for starters. Both were perfectly crispy, flavorful, and great for sharing. The chilli garlic aioli offered a spicy and refreshing taste for the baby squid! The tiger prawn bisque pasta was rich and creamy, while the grass-fed ribeye was perfectly cooked medium rare and paired beautifully with red wine sauce. To top it off, the moist chocolate brownie with ice cream was the perfect sweet ending.
Came with my partner, and we tried the fried burrata, Bismark Blanc pizza, Wagyu Bolognese, and Tiramisu for dessert. The Wagyu Bolognese stood out as my favorite, with its rich, beefy flavors shining through every bite. The dishes paired excellently with their refreshing Brewlander XPA. The happy hour 1-for-1 beer or wine during dinner was a pleasant surprise, adding great value to an already fantastic meal.
Service was impeccable, the ambiance cozy, and every dish left us wanting more. Highly recommended for a memorable dining experience!
Had dinner at Meadesmoore on a Wednesday night and it was such a memorable experience. We started with the Burrata di Pugliese, which was an absolute delight. For the main course, the Meads Cut steak was cooked to perfection—medium rare, juicy, and tender, with the fat beautifully rendered. The accompanying salsa and bordelaise sauces were warm and flavorful.
The Truffle Mac and Cheese was a standout. The pasta was cooked al dente, with a rich truffle flavor in every bite and a crispy, golden cheese crust that made it irresistibly good. I’d come back just for this dish alone! To round off the meal, we had the Tiramisu, which was creamy, rich, and boasted a slightly stronger alcoholic flavor than usual. This gave it a bold twist that set it apart from the classic version.
Overall, the food was amazing, the service was impeccable, and the atmosphere was cozy and inviting. It’s definitely one of the best steakhouses I’ve been to and a place I’d highly recommend for a special night out!
