This restaurant has a cozy ambience that gives privacy to its customers. I love the myriad of dishes available and how they still keep their standards high. I fancy the kamameshi, where you pour in the dashi broth to your unagi and rice. There was no space for dessert 😂

Delicious authentic Japanese cuisine in a humble eatery tucked in cuppage plaza. They are known for their great valued set meals. Their sashimi is really fresh and the tempura is served hot and crispy!

If you’re craving for ramen, this is highly recommended! I love the richness of the shrimp broth and the variety of shrimp dishes mixed in this huge bowl. Also, you should try the prawn dumpling with chili vinegarette!

Tbh I can’t remember the name of this dish but it is certainly a breakfast for champs! I love how each side goes well with each other, the crispiness of the bacon, the spices from the potatoe cubes, the tanginess of the tomato relish. A down side is that they don’t really have a system for queuing, you basically find the seats on your own before you get served.

Back here again! I always go for their Lox even though their other flavours (primal & warthog) are just as good. I love that they have so many choices of bagels and the filling is so generous! You should definitely try it if you love a good hearty meal. It’s relatively accessible by mrt too.

Healthy and yummy😋 perfect portion of protein topped with their special rice! The protein was perfectly cooked and tender. Their food came pretty quickly too. Just be prepared to queue for like > 30 mins if you come during the peak hours!

Being a fan of sashimi, of course I went for the premium sized ($20) Comparing the $10 and $20, there was actually a lot more fish so I think it was actually worth the $$. Taste wise, it was fresh and flavorful. The chunks were very generous. If you’re not very hungry that day, just go for the $10 one. One small drawback was the rice though, it was a tad hard.

I chanced upon this underrated cafe and if you guys have some extra space for dessert, do try their red velvet waffles and Mac and cheese waffle. I love the texture of the waffle, crispy on the outside but soft and airy on the inside. Between the two, I think the Mac and cheese has a slight edge to it because of its unique combination between sweet and savoury. It’s definitely worth a try!

This is Santouka’s original dish. I was impressed with their pork cheek slices; it really melts in your mouth. The broth of my shoyu ramen was rich and flavorful. Personally when I order this, I always ‘shabu’ my pork cheeks in one by one. I tried the other broths before and I like this one the most. Even though this item is slightly pricey, our tummies are worth pampering once in a while😋

Finally settled my craving for butter ribs! Pork ribs were tender and it blends well with the slightly sweet condensed milk powder. For those who have a sweet tooth, this dish is highly recommended for you. We went at about 930pm and they served the food within 10mins! Another dish you won’t want to miss out is the spinach with egg, salted egg and century egg ($8). Please go early to beat the crowd!

Attention to all meat lovers, you got to try this! Hearty bowl of slow roasted oxtail, braised beef tendon, US beef in a bowl of rich broth. I heard it’s been cooked for 8 hours so you can imagine the fragrance of the soup😋 it was a bit too salty for me though. I also ordered their famous Hitachino Nest White Ale ($10+)
One useful tip: please book in advance to avoid the long waiting time!

I tried the beef yakiniku, truffle salmon scrambled as well as truffle fries. Well yeah, I’m a big fan of truffle😍 And if you are, you got to try the truffle salmon scrambled - it’s creamy and creamy. If you’re afraid of too much truffle, share it alongside with another main. That’s why I got the Beef yakiniku. Even though it a tad too salty for my tastebuds, the onsen egg was a good balance to the flavors. Lastly, the truffle fries. I’ve had better:)
