For 1-for-1 Main Dish (save~$25) Easties, mark this cosy restaurant in Kembangan down for date night. Order the Sorrel Salmon ($23) that sees poached salmon on a bed of spinach and zucchini, surrounded by a moat of sorrel cream. Alternatively, go for the Fish And Chips ($22) that sees a nicely battered barramundi fillet served alongside an appetizing red cabbage coleslaw. Photo by Burppler Timtamtum ✨

Craving for some desserts this mid of the week? The Hazelnut Praline Choux was a memorable piece not just for its form but taste as well. To our surprise, this was pretty big in size double that of a usual Choux. The perfectly baked crunchy pastry contrasted well with the smooth hazelnut cream in between. Simple as it was, this would be the benchmark of what we want for a Choux dessert. Of cos, there were other appealing items in their dessert menu to pick too.

Fancy a Chocolate Pappardelle? We succumbed to our curiosity and was relieved that it wasn’t the dessert chocolatey taste that we feared for a savoury dish. Instead, the flavoured pasta complemented the braised beef in red wine jus for an earthy taste. It was comforting though there wasn’t any punchy taste to stand out. Similarly, their Duck Confit Tagliatelle had a full-bodied kinda taste from the duck meat which was somewhat restrained. Perhaps it was the chef’s intent to keep their pasta down-to-earth. Comparatively, to their starters had bolder and stronger flavours. The Squid Ink Bone Marrow was really memorable both visually and on the palate. A great contrast of textures between the marrow and crispy toasts. We were also delighted with the Honey Soy Crispy Chicken that would be a treat for everyone. Besides the dishes interesting savoury dishes on their menu, their desserts were as attractive to end a meal with.

Dinner in the Dark ($88++ for 12 tasting dishes). I thoroughly enjoyed my first dinner experience at NOX, even though they've been around since 2013. It was an emotive dinner experience, as I went through excitement and anxiety, followed by plenty of mystery and fun as I got used to the darkness. 🔸 The loss of vision is said to heighten your sense of taste, though I'm not exactly sure of that, as it could be attributed to the use of stronger flavours and more premium ingredients. However, what is certain is that I heard every word my dining companions said over dinner (yes, no distractions due to mobile phones or checking out of cute people across the table!). Good place for bonding. 🔸 Even if you've been here before, you could consider checking it out again as they have a new Head Chef Shahrom, as well as locally inspired cocktails and mystery drink tasting experiences by Head Bartender Hussien. 🔸 Dinner menu changes monthly, but should always consist of 3 courses with 4 tasting dishes per course (4 appetizer, 4 mains, and 4 desserts). For an additional $50++ per person, you can opt for their newly launched mystery cocktail tasting experience featuring three libations; or $40++ for three wines to pair with the dinner. 🔸 Pictured is my pre-dinner cocktail - Raspberry Dance ($20++) with Vodka, Peach Liqueur, Egg White, Lemon and Raspberries. A sweet and refreshing drink to get you in the mood first :) 🔸 🔸 [Hosted]

Unique Experience Have u ever tried dining in complete darkness? Now I can say I have. As one of your senses is made redundant, your taste buds senses become more sensitive. The food we had was very flavourful, we had a fun time trying to identify the food we had at the end of dinner. Very very expensive though Great experience, but I may not return again due to the price of this place. Total damage for two(with cocktail package):$340(after gst)

For a Dining Adventure in the Dark Apart from the fact that eating in complete darkness is a unique dining experience we recommend trying at least once in your life, NOX also supports and provides employment to visually impaired individuals, all of whom have been trained to guide and serve — which they do with utmost professionalism! Like NOX aptly writes on its website, "it is a truly human experience when the roles are reversed and the blind become your eyes". The meal begins with a cocktail in the warmly lit romantic lounge (this place is perfect for a cheeky date night!), after which the prix fixe dinner ($88 per person) is a mystery menu consisting of 12 dishes set over three courses. Trust us — it is perfectly okay to dig in with your hands. You can choose to add on wine pairing (from $30 for two glasses) and request for a vegetarian or vegan menu. Bring your sense of fun and adventure. Reservations highly recommended. Price: $88 per person Photo by Burppler Rachael Wong

Har Cheong Kai Burger from Dual Cafe! Was quite an unsatisfactory meal to be honest. The fries and bun were cold. The bun was greasy. The only good part was the fried chicken, which was warm and juicy. It would have been more special with a slice of cheese. I think they had to fry the chicken properly, and so the fries and bun became cold while waiting. Despite all that, the service was good and the ambience was nice. Take note that if you're using Burpple Beyond or Entertainer, there's a very limited selection to choose from: 2 vegetarian pastas, this burger or an Asian curry (weekends only). Price: $15 #halfeatenblog #dualcafe #chicken #burger #burpple

Unagi, Eggs And Toast ($16) A dish that was sadly disappointing ☹️ The toast was the only part that was okay, the other components needed much more improvement. Scrambled eggs didn't have the desirable creamy and fluffy texture, and despite the sprinkles of sesame seed, were rather tasteless and bland. The unagi on the other hand, was too sweet (too much sauce perhaps) and had a rather weird fishy taste😅 Would suggest sticking to their other mains, like the har cheong gai burger
