So I want like yeah it’s just instant noodles how good can it be but !!! I was proven wrong. The noodles were absolutely delightful and delicately bouncy. A nice comforting broth that could be made spicier with chilli padi, but had an appetising tang to it alongside a decent amount of ingredients. Overall this is a bowl of noodles with really nice flavour, and really impressive instant noodles😂

Decent tofu that was way too expensive for its price. I personally thought it was lacking in flavour as well, though the generous amount of crispy pickled radish gave a nice crunch.

Came here for lunch and it had a queue - a famous stall probably because of its reputation for being on the Michelin Bib. Loved how bouncy the fishball was here! Mee Pok texture was decent, but I thought that the sauce lacked that vinegar punch. A pretty sizeable amount of ingredients for a medium. Plus point was that the owner was really nice and polite :)

Pictured is the grilled small sea bass simmering in a Sichuan green pepper broth that is fit to share between 2 people. The meat was beautifully tender and fresh, and the Sichuan green pepper broth gave a numbing kick to it. I didn’t think it was too spicy and could have afforded for it to be even spicier, but the sourness from the broth was definitely appetising. This portion of fish is perfect, especially when you can add more ingredients to the grill, just like steamboat! To top up ingredients requires added cost though, and the other ingredients may be much pricier than elsewhere. That being said, very efficient and polite service and I highly recommend this if you’re around the area!

Grilled Iberico with red capsicum and Sicilian capers. Extremely well-executed grill with tender meat, somehow almost like a medium rare steak. The generous amount of Sicilian capers added a burst of saltiness with every bite, helping to take away the gaminess of the meat at the same time. But I must say - this is a dish for sharing! Too much and you’ll be too full too fast, and also overwhelmed by the savouriness of it all.

Gran Biscotto ham, fior di latte mozzarella, onions and spices. One of the best pizzas I’ve had because of its texture. After reading multiple reviews, I can attest to the amazing chewiness of the dough, while it still remaining light, fluffy, and crusty. This pizza was loaded with ingredients - and while not a simple classic, guarantees a burst of flavour and a generous portion of meat and cheese. My only gripe would be that the pizza base became slightly wet, and I couldn’t really understand the spicy mayo sauce (??) on the pizza, especially since it was so saucy from the cheese already. Definitely a pricey place to have pizza, but that being said, the texture of the pizza here make La Bottega Enoteca really worth a try!

You get both type of fishes here - sliced fish and fried fish. I really like how fresh and tender the fish slices were and how meaty the fried fish was. I thought the soup was quite bland though. Unfortunately, I’m not sure if it’s worth the queue and if I would go back again. That being said they have franchises around, and if it’s made more convenient with shorter waiting times this fish soup would be a decent fix.

This was a $15/2pax claypot rice but with added ingredients starting from $5! Highly recommend adding ingredients because it really makes the whole meal such a treat. I love the warm feeling claypot rice gives, and here you have all the freedom to put as much soy sauce and oil that you want to get the flavours and textures out. My only gripe is that I did not seem taste any salted fish - which might mean that they were too stingy with it even in this huge claypot. Overall, got a nice delicious meal to satisfy the claypot rice craving but remember to call ahead to make sure there’s still enough for you!

Ultimate guilty pleasure. Fragrant coconut rice that’s a good balance of moist and taste of coconut. Nice chilli and super juicy chicken wings. The ingredients were all hot, and you can see the stall constantly making new batches of food. A wide range of ingredients to choose from so you can add as many as you wish. Long queues especially in the morning, but worth the queue to quell a craving.

Actually really enjoyed the laksa broth with the pasta - it packed a nice spicy punch and really tasted like laksa, with the sous vide egg giving a thicker consistency to the base. Big tiger prawns and topped with crispy bakkwa as well!

Thanks BCH for having us and Burpple for the invite🌟

Singapore’s classic chilli crab sauce with fettuccine, soft shell crab, and a sous vide egg. It was a plate of saucy goodness that really has spicy undertones, but also a chill crab sweetness to it. Quite amazed at how they struck that balance, though the the pasta was a bit soggy.

Thanks for having us, Bee Cheng Hiang!

So good that I just want to make this at home so I can have it everyday🥺 super cheesy goodness that’s worthy of a cheese pull shot but I messed up🫣 but that also means that they really did not scrimp on the mozzarella. Cheesy decadence aside, Bee Cheng Hiang has very successfully placed 2 of their best products together - bakkwa and pork floss. I loved how the floss had that slight sweetness to it on the toast, and the bakkwa have that nice textured ingredient to it. A really yummy snack!!

Thanks BCH for hosting & Burpple for the invite✨
