affordable and juicy burgers, served with fries which were fried to perfection. however, i would recommend to give the crazy shakes a skip as they were too sweet and we were even struggling to finish the drink due to the one-dimensional taste (of pure sugar...)

managed to buy the matcha sesame tartlet, pulut hitam tartlet, strawberry rhubarb tartlet and earl grey macadamia tartlet. absolutely enjoyed the early grey macadamia tart, which had a surprisingly fragrant earl grey flavour. the pulut hitam is a close second as well, would definitely recommend to try! the matcha and strawberry rhubarb however fell short of my expectations.

not photographed is the hojicha yuzu cake which was a father's day special, which was the best item from the bakery! the textures and flavour profiles were both special and done well, definitely give it a try before they remove it from the menu (:

food and drinks were extraordinarily mediocre, but the long service time added to the overall frustrating experience. they're closing at the end of june due to manpower issues, which is apparent in their long wait time (30min for each item). in conclusion, not a store i would recommend.

do note that there are only 2 pastas available for burpple deal - smoked pork carbonara and mala chilli crab pasta! that said, both dishes were done well although the mala pasta was a little too spicy for our liking. the carbonara was creamy and flavourful, a great balance to the spicy mala pasta! however, the best part of the meal is the decor and design, as the exceptionally high ceiling and glass panels added to the ambience of the cafe.

had the 88% dark chocolate & matcha ice cream, both of which were exceptional and delicious! enjoyed the pairing with biscuit soil at the bottom and the dark chocolate shot. the shot was rich and bitter, so would recommend dipping the ice cream rather than pouring the whole shot over the ice cream as it can get overwhelming. overall a great dessert that i would come back for (:

managed to try the wide variety of rice dumplings available at joo chiat kim choo traditional rice dumplings! it's a household name that needs no introduction, and all dumplings had a generous meat-to-rice ratio with perfect consistency of rice.
personally i enjoyed the mei cai kou rou the most as the vegetable was cooked well and not overly salty. great alternative to the usual rice dumpling flavours! if you want to opt for a more premium rice dumpling, the Emperor's Rice Dumpling will definitely satisfy those cravings with their premium pork belly. it was exploding with ingredients and is best to share as it can get jelak nearing the end :)

a little pricey but it's worth every cent! absolutely enjoyed the oolong ice cream which had a strong and fragrant tea flavour to it. the great pairing of the cold ice cream with warm donut made the dessert one remember (:

love the collaboration box with chicha! especially loved the black tea croissant which was a lava-croissant with melted centre and the osmanthus oolong had a great balance between the two teas. the dong ding oolong however was a disappointment despite being the one i was most excited for :( do give the above 2 a try if they do bring it back!

bought the snapper & laksa linguine, which were both decent for the price point with burpple deal! the laksa linguine was rather special and the flavours were done well, while the snapper was of generous serving size. however, the blue pea flower rice was a little dry and tasteless.
the restaurant was rather full on a weekday night so be sure to place a reservation before heading down! overall a great restaurant to go with burpple deal.

rather secluded place although it's conveniently located just opposite somerset mrt! the owner was extremely friendly and shared that all ice cream was made in-store at the mini production house at the back of the shop.
bought the pistachio, genmaicha, strawberry marshmallow and cookies & cream for a total of $11. value-for-money especially given the generous serving of each scoop (: especially enjoyed the genmaicha which was strong and flavourful! would definitely recommend giving this a try, and to support a small business owner selling quality dessert at the same time.

had the satay chicken & spicy chicken wraps with burpple 1-for-1. when i went there were only these 2 options available (no sandwiches or beef), but at a total price of $12 for 2 sets, it's an absolute steal! the chicken was flavourful and the nacho chips were highly addictive. the cafe is small but rather cozy, with neon light decorations adding to the ambience. would definitely recommend checking it out especially with the 1-for-1 deal!

great place with amazing food! if you love skewers, this place has a wide variety of options for you to choose from. however, i would recommend giving the broccoli a miss as it was extremely oily and to skip the tofu skin as well given the tough and dry texture.
things we particularly enjoyed were the potatoes, pork belly and enoki-bacon wrap, which were amazing and would definitely recommend getting!
