I've had my eye our for an authentic Italian diner for a while and Atmastel was recommended to me by Burpple. Safe to say, I wasn't disappointed. Copious use of olive oil and Italian herbs made the Quattro Formaggi (Four Cheese) pizza for me. A bite into its thin crust let loose and appropriate formulation of olive oil and cheeses, a true Mediterranean dish.

Apart from great food, the lively atmosphere of this place makes it great for meetups or even date night. Perhaps a nice jaunt for some of you?

I'm more familiar with the Szechuan dumpling that has the shiok spicy red oil and that seductive sourish fragrant black vinegar. Essentially, these Japanese Dumplings at Dim Sum Haus tasted like fusion of three cuisines - shaped like gyoza with Chinese prawn dumpling (水饺) filling and skin then soaked in Szechuan dumpling's black vinegar and sprinkled with diced red chilli and coriander. For those who can't handle spiciness but enjoys vinegar, this is for you! 😁

I would gladly order this again for the plump succulent whole prawn and savoury filling in every dumpling and that addictive sauce. 😋

Expensive chain restaurant crab goes head to head with cheap crabs from Johor! The freshness of this crab is evident in its claw meat; being more tender this makes it easier to eat. The black paper sauce is not overpowering - instead it complements the taste of the crab itself. But it is pricey so I'd save it for family reunions and the like.

Authentic Tiramisu that goes light on the alcohol so that everyone (especially cocoa lovers) can enjoy this large slice of heaven! This place can be pricey so be prepared to fork out a little more for the Italian ambiance and friendly waitstaff. If you're looking to celebrate an occasion with good food and wine here's a good place to stop by!

At today's exchange rate, food in JB has never felt so cheap! The crabs weren't super fresh but the way they cooked it in the dry salted egg topping made it taste really good. If you're a crab person this seafood stop near the Second Link in Bukit Indah is a must try, but be careful as this place can get really crowded with your groups stopping by!

Unlike the usual "siew mai" wrapped with yellow skin, the charcoal skin made the siew mai looked extra delicious with the contrasting colours. It does not have any different taste and texture from the normal yellow skin but there might be some teeny tiny health benefits since it's charcoal infused.

I love how generous Dim Sum Haus was with the filling as I could totally taste the chunky prawns in every bite. 😘 The consistency is, however, softer than the usual pork siew mai due to the use of minced chicken as the main ingredient. My favourite part was when the prawn roes popped one by one inside my mouth. Hou hou sek~ (yummy in Cantonese) 😋

A creamy delight that serves up all you'd expect of a vanilla soft serve topped with sauces that gives it its character. This dessert cafe serves up interesting desserts such as honeycomb that I didn't get the chance to try but if this ice cream is any indicator, it should be good!

A quaint cafe overlooking the buzzing hive of activity that is the Takashimaya department store, stocked with an array of pan-cooked waffle desserts and coffees to keep any connoisseur happy! I came specifically for the lobster roll (one of the few places in Singapore to get one) and I wasn't disappointed. There was an acceptable amount of mayonnaise dressing and lobster tail and claw meat to complement the buttery brioche roll. A pleasant entry to the world of lobster rolls. ($22++)

I've never really tried restaurant-class Indian food before but I wasn't disappointed on my first try. Ordered the reliable old Naan Basket which had 4 full Naans in it to share (spoiler alert: we ended up getting another basket because it was so good!). Each Naan came in its own flavour from garlic to butter to plain and another flavour that I can't recall. The Naan was warm to the touch and flavourful throughout, retaining its original flavor even when combined with the Paneer (cottage cheese curry) that we had ordered to go along with it.

A friendly place to try out Indian food, especially for first timers!

When they put this dish as their Chef's Recommendation, they weren't fooling around. This dish is an amazing manifestation of what I thought a Don should be! The Chashu pork mixed in with the sweet teriyaki style sauce to give a texture rivaling that of perfectly cooked "kuay chap" style pork. Combine it with the heated stone bowl and quality white rice it was amazing and worth every penny at 11.90++.

Aji-Ichi also had a NSman/Student promotion where each main course comes with a free green tea and side dish but since it was a weekend I didn't get to enjoy that. Nevertheless, a good experience with friendly service (fast too!).

And this is what justifies the price tag: great service. The service staff checked in with us to see how was our dining experience and offered us a complimentary Brownie dessert for Mother's Day! Not spectacular but a nice gesture nonetheless. I'll be coming back (but not too soon as I'll burn a hole in my wallet if I come too often)!

And we've saved the best for last! The margarita cooked chicken was perfectly succulent and tender, partly justifying its $36++ price tag. Combine it with the sauce, vegetables and refried beans in a tortilla and you'll know what authentic Mexican food truly tastes like. This was one of their off-the-menu specials so you'll have to specially ask for it.
