Unlike the feeble attempts by certain large fast food corporations to hop onto the salted egg bandwagon, this salted egg sauce will be the first thing to wow you - the taste of salted egg is prominent, forward and shiok (for the lack of a better adjective of the same effect) and the sauce is almost like a thick salted egg curry minus the curry. That goes on a nice caramelized chicken thigh, served with garlic fried rice, crispy shallots and some home made pickles for some acidity. This is a great plate of food for dinner/supper. A combination of the Burnt Ends signature (tender, smokey and rich) with a touch of Asia (topped with onions and spring onions sautéed in Szechuan chilli oil), I dare say I have never seen anything like that in a hawker center or and atas hawker center before. Excuse me, Iâll take two of that please! If you want to skip the permanent queue outside this place, A great tip is to head there during lunch on a weekday about 1pm onwards! The crowd dies down quite quickly then. #burpple
This place has since become one of my go-to-places for lunch for qq noodles and nice Hong Kong styles noodles and congee. Recently theyâve been experimenting with some variants i really enjoyed this new prawn noodle-ish dish. Huge prawn wantons atop wanton noodles with a nice, al dente spring to them and two large prawns served with a rich (but not heavy) broth - this is exactly a cross between really good prawn noodles and really good wanton noodles. The fried shallots give textural contrast to the dish, while the sweetness of the prawns and the intense umami in the soup really brings the flavors in the dish together. The chilli sauce provided on the table seemed to have dried shrimps ground into it, so you can add that to your noodles for an extra burst of spice and umami. Much love to this place. #burpple

Brined for 2 weeks before it hits the grill for that lovely char and the oven for that perfectly even cook - no sous vide involved here. The wagyu tomahawk itself is ordered without the bone so you gain all that âboneâ weight in meat. Itâs finally crusted in toasted black sesame before being served with slow roasted tomatoes and ohsoamazingcaramelised carrots.
The meat is then carved and served at the table, in batches, so the meat stays juicy and warm throughout the meal. The richness of the meat, with a little tartness from the tomatoes and sweetness from the caramelised carrots - takes you to a happy food coma after the meal is done.
Donât forget to also try their soups and pastas (tomato soup, Muddy Mushroom soup, Clammy Addiction and Caramel Carnivore (the upgraded version has meatballs now!) pastas being some of my favorites! Too bad the killed the Bourdain). A reservation and a $100 deposit is required when you book the wagyu tomahawk or the short ribs. Go with at least 4 pax or 3 monsters. You wonât regret this.

A pretty and refreshing dessert for a hot day, the sponge was light, and the purée not overly sweet. There was a good balance of textures with some crunch from the brûlée and the biscuit base.
What you must try here is their cold brew tea. Brewed in house, it was probably the best cold brew tea Iâve had in Singapore so far. Cold brewing brings out the natural sweetness of the tea and its ingredients and the pear in the tea I had was forward and fragrant. Their teas are served with a small dish of chestnut purĂ©e and cream which was a pleasant start to the meal.
