IKEA has definitely glorified Swedish meatballs so how can I give this signature dish a miss at Fika right? 😉
.
Featuring 8 beef meatballs, baby potatoes, drizzled in cream sauce with a side of lingonberry jam, this plate of Swedish Meatballs ($19++) definitely made a hearty meal! 🐷🐷🐷 Especially liked the pickled cucumbers which added a refreshing element to the plate & making the meats less heavy. 😋
.
Marinated & handmade in-house every morning, these meatballs were tender & of the right texture - not too coarse nor too fine, not too dense nor too loose. 👍🏻
.
Somehow, I still prefer my meatballs savoury, but I do enjoy an occasional dip in the sweet jam to spice things up a little, else wolfing down 8 meatballs in heavy cream sauce can get a little monotonous. 🤣 This is better shared in my opinion! ✔

This rice in soup dish is the first one I’ve had in this style and boy did it impress! Perfect harmonious blend of flavours and fresh (and generous) serving of ingredients. Yuzu wasn’t too overpowering. Thumbs up.

Babasan is a place that’s great for groups and they also have really good prices/deals on alcohol. Highly recommend checking it out!

BBQ pork ribs with torch ginger, kaffir leaf, sweet spicy chilli, waffle fries, garden greens. $22. Meat falls off the bone easily. Tangy and refreshing sauce! :)

My favourite in Singapore. This is a small ($5) bowl, the others come in $6, $7 sizes with a generous serving of beancurd, potato, chicken. Love the chilli that comes with it - make sure you don’t put too much as it comes with a fiery kick

A novel concept which unfortunately was too sweet for me, the soft serve really helps to balance out the cookie dough, but it’s nothing too special. Prefer to stick with good ol gelatos in the future but I believe cookie fans would still like this

My friends and I love eating here - decent prices and great variety of ingredients. When we spend $10/person we are usually stuffed. Service is efficient and spice is awesome with mala kick. We love the oyster mushrooms, meats and tofu! We go for Zhong La and it’s not too bad. Xiao la works too!

Hack: Say you’re eating 1 person’s portion if you’re having a meal with 2 so you get to choose more different types!

Piggy Liu Sha Bao at Victor’s Kitchen - just the correct balance between sweet and savoury. Victor’s Kitchen never fails to disappoint with value for money prices!

Honestly did not find this value for money as it was overhyped - creme brûlée was average, and at moment of purchase there was not much choice for flavour. Nevertheless soft serve was rich, creamy with a strong dairy taste. Milk lovers would love it!

Go for their buffet priced at $24.90 for weekdays (Sunday is considered a weekday!). Super affordable but please don’t expect the world. There’s enough variety on their buffet menu. Get the mid wings. They also offer a beer buffet for an addition of $29.90. (6.8/10)

I loved this. Three succulent lobster claws nestled snugly within a toasted bun? YES. I had the Connecticut, which was supposed to be drizzled with warm butter - this I barely tasted, but the lobster meat and bun really made up for it! Juicy, sweet, and fresh. That’s really all you need ☺️

You should note that their opening hours are all over the place across all social platforms, including Burpple, Google and their website - basically don’t drop by on weekends, they aren’t open (I tried to on a Saturday first & it was very much closed)

They’re open Monday to Friday, and close from between 9-9:30pm, so says the staff!

Great experience at Creamier which never disappoints, delicious and well-presented waffles. Paid $13.60 for 2 sets of single scoop + waffle + homemade iced tea with #burpplebeyond, a great deal!
