The brown sugar has a nice deep toffee-like flavour and is not in-your-face sweet, while the contrasting textures of the different sized boba and pearls give your mouth something to think about. I still donā€™t think itā€™s worth the long queues though. @tigersugarsg

There are bits of lard, cockles and Chinese sausage but the noodles lack that distinct smoky savoury quality that makes this dish outstanding, with most of its flavour coming from the sweet dark soy sauce. Itā€™s still worth supporting such stores because you might never get to eat them again once theyā€™re gone.

Encased within the crisp exterior shell of rice flour batter are mounds of minced pork, shrimp, oysters and coriander; the interior batter stays soft and warm. Itā€™s also studded with peanuts, because why the hell not? Bless whoever invented this snack.

Also, when are you going to bring in more Curry Sauce bottles? The people demand answers. @mcdsg

Yes the egg is soft and fluffy at least, but the rice beneath it is nothing spectacular. The demi glacĆ© ladled over doesnā€™t have much flavour, and its bitterness takes some getting used to. Come for his fancy flicks and your share of bragging rightsā€”but donā€™t expect the meal to be worth your money in terms of taste. @kichikichi_omurice

The spicy chunks of fish come mixed with chilli aioli, scallions and wasabi, also having strong hints of ginger, while the soy and bonito add tons of umami. Perhaps the tastiest bit is the sesame miso cone itself, whose sweetness paired harmoniously with the savoury tuna filling. P.S. Youā€™ll get two of these on their lunch menu, itā€™s so much more worth it. @spagosingapore
