[Invited Tasting] 'Cause when you love SALMON, you open up your heart! 🎶 Plus your mouth too!!! 😂 . And this baby from Citrus by the Pool is something I'll always say "aah" to! 🤗 Found under their menu as the Catch of the Day ($16.90+), this dish features a thick slab of pan-seared salmon 🐟 served on a bed of mashed potato alongside seasonal vegetables like corn 🌽 , broccoli 🥦 , cherry tomatoes 🍅 , mushrooms 🍄 and sweet potatoes 🥔 . A pescatarian's favourite, the salmon fillet here is grilled to perfection such that its flesh is succulent while its skin is crispy and slightly charred! 🤤 . To finish, the dish is then doused in a homemade cream sauce which really elevated the overall taste of the fish, mash and veggies. Yummy! 😋 . Thanks @nickblitzz for the kind invite and @dawnchansg @citrusbythepool for the warm hospitality and the sumptuous spread ❤

For Laid Back Bites and Milkshakes in Woodlands Nothing cools you down on a warm Singaporean afternoon like a dip in the pool and a tall, cold milkshake! Try their sugary-sweet Caramel Popcorn Milkshake (from $8.90) or indulge in the sinful Snickerhead Milkshake (from $8.90). Accompany your beverages with the Grilled Free-range Chicken ($14.90) that sees a large sous vide chicken thigh doused in homemade brown sauce for a nice tangy finish. Yum! It's been a while since we got to spend midweek properly together without the worries of work! We took the opportunity to try @stateland_coffeehouse 's Early Grey Burst with Black Sesame soft serve! It was fun and scary (cos it might just squirt into your face?!) bursting the mochi donut balls and watching the chocolate earl grey lava slowly oooze out. The crisps also added some texture to this dessert and it reminded us of kiddy breakfast cereal! We enjoyed the combination for a while but towards the end, we felt it was getting a bit too sweet for our liking. It's still worth a try though! We’ll probably try the plain mochi donut with no dangerous lava centre next!!!

I'll be CAULIFLOWER wishing on these stars 🎶 . Usually not a fan of cauliflower but the Curried Fried Cauliflower from Stateland Coffeehouse has completely won me over! Seasoned with curry powder and garnished with cheese flakes and spring onions, these cauliflower bits make for an addictive snack that I couldn't stop munching on! 😍 . As far as I know, this is only available as a side dish for their Laksa Egg Benedict (good stuff, I tell you) but I sure hope that @stateland_coffeehouse will sell this on its own! 🙌

Say hello to the weekend with a scrumptious Asian fusion weekend brunch at Stateland Coffehouse! 🤗 . Featuring their Laksa Egg Benedict ($22) and Tom-Yum Pancake with Thai Basil Pork ($20) 🍽 . The former puts a creative spin on the ubiquitous egg benedict dish with the standard toast being swapped out for their seasonal croissant 🥐 While poached eggs are still a mainstay, the dish is tszujed up with laksa hollandaise sauce and cheddar cheese 🧀, and paired with a side of curried fried cauliflower that is wonderfully seasoned with spices and oh so addictive to munch on! Left a little confused by why the croissant is a seasonal crossiant but hey when the food is great, there's no need for that many questions is there? 😂 . As for the latter, it's definitely something novel which I have not seen anywhere else before! Here, a tom yum scented soufflé pancake 🌶🥞 lies concealed under a generous serving of Thai basil pork sauce replete with chunks of minced pork. The dish is then topped with a fried egg 🍳 and a crispy papadum. Though not as Instagrammable as the Laksa Egg Benedict, this was my favourite out of the two brunch dishes as I felt that all the elements of the dish went cohesively well together! Although the soufflé pancake wasn't as fluffy as we had hoped it would be, it was nonetheless infused with the distinctive tom yum flavour which was nicely complemented by the other Asian flavours in the dish. Delicious! 😋

I’ve not tried everything at Sunlok Noodle house but what I’ve tried, I’ve really really liked. Wat Tan Hor Fun is one of my favourite Tze char dishes and Sunlok does it with aplomb. • Located at 321 clementi it does get pretty crowded with those living in the area. • While they ran out of hor fun on the day I went, the substitute of beehoon was still really good. Super smoky wok hei, a deliciously unctuous silky sauce and a generous amount of seafood. It’s one of dishes that I’ve categorised as one that I will end up always ordering every time I visit. • Shoutouts to @juliuslim for the great recommendation

Truly Hong Kong Thanks for bupplers Who posted about sun Lok’s new location. The last time I dined at their Jurong super bowl branch was more than 10 years back and haven’t been back because it was a little out of the way . I am Glad that I have found my place to their new outlet at clementi this time. Everything about this place makes you think you are dining in Hong Kong . First and foremost the food was fabulous . The porridge was silky and smooth ( and reminded me very much of crystal jade’s) while the wanton noodles came with 6 plump wantons hidden beneath a huge portion of springy noodles . The home made char siew pao was soft and fluffy and filled with juicy char siew while the century egg and salted egg vegetables in broth was well prepared with a tasty broth . It was very comforting to know that all the dim Sum items are hand made in house by the Chef. For food quality this good , prices are reasonably affordable especially the noodle and porridge items . The service was really warm and we were well hosted by an Aunty was Has been with the restaurant for 20 years. She made the dining experience really enjoyable - almost like we were dining at home . And do check out the deco of the deli - very authentic Hk style .

Steamed Shrimp Dumplings & Steamed B.B.Q. Buns. I’m back again at Sun Lok Noodle House. Plump and crunchy prawns in translucent-skinned dumplings & sweet and savoury char siew filling in fluffy buns. It’s hard not to love these dim sum favourites. #burpple
