From waffles and puffles and soft serve (I miss these!), to matcha specialty kiosk, to Japanese tea cafe, @hvala_sg has come such a long way and I’m so proud of this homegrown brand. Their new cafe at Chijmes is gorgeous and the tea selection is extensive – you’re sure to find something you like!
Everything on this plate was really commendable – the fluffy and fragrant coconut rice, the moreish dry curry chicken that’s reminiscent of the filling in Old Chang Kee’s signature curry puffs, the refreshingly zingy achar, the crunchy peanuts and ikan bilis, and that impeccable sunny-side-up with an oozy egg yolk. 10/10 would eat this again!

Creamy linguine that tasted more of garlic than truffle, with a soft-set egg, bacon and mushrooms. $15 for a set with soup and a drink sounds worth it, but I reckon their ala carte dishes may fare better.

Seoul is full of Instagrammable cafes dishing up equally Instagrammable nosh, and this is one of them. We stopped by this cafe near our hostel when we needed a break from the traditional Korean food we’d been stuffing ourselves with and were rewarded with the heartiest of brunches. That French toast with caramelised bananas and granola!!! 😍
