CRAFTing an IG post aint easy. 💪🏻 CRAFTing a good brunch isnt too. But CRAFTSMEN has done it! 😍 In conjunction with the new menu released exclusively at @CraftsmenSpecialtyCoffee Mohd Sultan, they are running an attractive promo! ✌🏻✌🏻✌🏻 From 5pm until closing daily, upgrade your burgers 🍔 with curly fries (price ranges from $17-$19) 🍟 with half pint of ASAHI 🍺 or orange juice 🍊 with additional $0.90 onwards to make it a set @$19.90. Limited time offer till further notice! ✔ . Craving for something more fancy for brunch? We tried the Ribeye Croissant Sandwich ($26) 🥩🥐, which is the most premium of their croissant sandwiches series. 🤤🤤🤤 Other options such as Ham & Cheese ($16), Truffle Eggs & Roasted Tomatoes ($18) or Smoked Salmon, Scrambled Eggs & Sliced Avocadoes ($19) would be great choices too! 👏🏻 . The croissant was pretty delightful - I particularly enjoyed the crisp exterior, while it remained airy & soft inside. 💯 While it was rich & buttery, I’m glad that it wasn’t oily! 👍🏻 Featuring a generous portion of ribeye 🥩 (300g before cooking), juicy sauteed mushrooms🍄, sweet caramelised onions, crunchy lettuce 🥬 & finally drizzled with an addictive in-house sauce, this was indeed a flavourful one. 😋😋😋 . While I would prefer the beef to be more tender (inevitable as it had to be served well done 😂 instead of my usual preference of medium rare), it was still a good eat! 👌🏻

Smoked Salmon Brioche ($19) Breakfast all day, everyday. A breakfast bomb piled up high with generous amount of scrambled eggs, smoked salmon and guacamole on a thick toast. The pea sprouts and roasted nuts "garnishes" gave the dish added texture and freshness; and the drizzle of their signature mayo sauce elevated the flavours with a slight zesty tang. Incredibly tasty, satisfying and full-filling hearty plate of goodness. 😍

Butterscotch Latte & Black Sesame Soy Latte I’ve tried the Black Sesame Soy Latte before and I’m glad to say that the standard is consistently good at Craftsmen. The Black Sesame fragrance is strong, and the taste is prominent. It’s mixed nicely with the milk, resulting in an amazingly creamy and smooth beverage. Great for a non-caffeinated drink. The butterscotch latte is just one of the many creative drinks available at Craftsmen. It indeed tastes of butterscotch, with a pleasant sweetness to balance the slight bitterness of the coffee. Craftsmen has achieved just the right level of sweetness in this beverage, resulting in a pleasant drink to go with your meal, or a nice beverage to have with your friends or family over a catch-up session. I’ve loved all the drinks I’ve had at Craftsmen Coffee so far and will definitely be back for more and to try the food!

Good Burgers But I Won’t Say The Best... Avocado Beef Burger (~$24): a DOUBLE PATTY!!! Burger that wasn’t too oily the way most burgers can get, but it was still really juicy, though the patties were quite thin! 🍔 Medium rare patties weren’t the best seasoned ones but together with the other ingredients, this was deffos a good burger! . I expected guacamole in this burger but instead got half an avocado, which wasn’t entirely bad, just not the easiest for eating 😂🥑 . Change your fries to sweet potato fries (+$2) and you won’t regret!!! Trust me!! It tasted WAY better than normal paprika dusted fries 🍟 Ig @goodfomood

Mentaiko Soft Shell Crab 🦀 🍔 🦀A seafood lover’s burger with pretty strong seafoody taste (from the mentaiko and fish roe bits). The soft shell crab was fried to a nice crispy touch and sandwiches between brioche buns slathered with a good amount of mentaiko sauce. The pillowy buns nicely complemented the crispy soft shell crab in terms of texture and...taste too! Cos the crab, when eaten on its own, was a tad too salty - according to the boyfriend. The thick cut fries could have been crispier, or replaced with potato cuts. It was a lil’ soggy for most but then again I guess the highlight and deal here’s the soft shell crab and buns, instead of the fries right?

Bunker Burger “Get this if you’re a cheese lover!” recommends the waitress. And so I did! Verdict: hmms...the additional cheese portion comes with a bowl of cheese which you can dip your burger and fries (nacho cheese fries!) - a pretty good deal if you like nacho cheese. Personally, I prefer the melty cheeses in burgers, not the more liquidy version of nacho cheese (never a fan of nachos). I’d expected melty cheddar but it wasn’t! 😔 nevertheless, the nacho cheese dip served me well - I dunked my fries into it and it was a good portion for 2 servings of fries! The charcoal bun added an aesthetic touch to the burger but it was a lil’ more stiff than their brioche. Beef patty was cooked to a nice medium, with bacon well done & cheese nicely melted. A very, very sinful meal and a pretty good deal with no service charge and gst!

Signature Beef Cheeseburger (single) [$6] This burger was fantastic! The patty was very juicy. Asked for no mayo for this, which allowed the patty to shine. The bun was buttery and fluffy. Wished there would be more cheese though!

Classic Beef Cheeseburger ($6/single patty, $8/double patty), Fried Chicken Burger ($5.50). Team 🐄 or Team 🐓 ? A place to check out for cheap and good burgers, just as I did to sate my burger desire. Sandwiched between the fluffy toasted buns for the cheeseburger that the boyf had were some slow caramelised onions, American cheese, chopped pickled jalapeños, house-made sauce and of course the beef patties. Burst of beef flavour with a hint of char the moment we took a bite off the burger from their handmade beef patties, but we would have preferred it not to be well-done as it resulted in a slightly dry texture. Nevertheless, the sweet caramelised onions and melted cheese rounded the meaty taste off wonderfully with some moisture. There’s an option of original or spicy version for the fried chicken burger. I had the spicy version, which kinda reminded me of Mcspicy, but subtler. Complementing the crispy, succulent chicken thigh were a beautifully-colored house-made slaw and Hammee’s burger sauce, having a similar taste to the Thousand Island sauce. Though a spicy burger, the 🔥 which came trailing toward the end, was quite manageable. What really captivated me were still the toasted buns with a buttery aroma which hits the sweet spot. All burgers are served with a side of paprika-seasoned fries. Waiting time was approximately 30 minutes on a Sunday afternoon.

Hawker Burgers Queued almost 1.5 hours for this. The grilled angus beef patties were juicy goodness and the buns are so soft. Hawker priced which makes them value for money for the quality you are getting. But really not worth waiting so long!

Sunday cafe-hop. Taro Latte with cotton candy, Flat White, and lots of cute little touches 💕 Lovely space but the vibes were a little too cold and indifferent, wouldn't hurt for the service staff to be just a tad bit more upbeat and welcoming 😛 (Formerly Banana Tree, now rebranded as V Cafe on Keong Siak).

Black Sesame $14.50 Under a new management, the original Banana Tree Cafe has now become V Cafe. However, the interior, location and the menu is pretty much the same. This is honestly one of the best Bingsu I've ever eaten in Singapore. The shavings were smooth, fine and slightly milky and I loved how they layered the shavings and powder such that they wouldn't run out even after reaching the bottom of the pan. The ice cream and the red beans paired well with the dish as well. Not a big fan of black sesame, but I'm definitely a fan of this dessert 😋

[$14.50] Black Sesame Although banana tree cafe is now under new management (now called V cafe), everything's pretty much the same. Saddened that their flower pot pudding is off the menu though! Anyway, this was amazing!!! The black bean soy milk shavings were really fine and had a milder sweetness as compared to other bingsus i've had. The black sesame ice cream was so rich in flavour and the red beans were a nice compliment :) Appreciated that they made an effort to layer the milk shavings and black sesame powder as i always had a bit of both in every mouthful. Almond flakes also adds a different texture to it too! P.S. they say it's also a healthier option so i guess now i can binge on this without guilt 🙆🏻

PURIST PATISSERIE, SPECIAL OF THE DAY Not sure whether the special of the day will be made available everyday but I happened to chanced upon this cake that really attracted me cause of its layers. Made with layers of strawberries, pistachios and a hint of basil, the cake was unfortunately a tad dry, even though the pistachio flavour still shines through. Nevertheless, I'm looking forward to more new flavours from purist patisserie.

PURIST PATISSERIE Being a fan of entremet cakes gives me enough reason to visit Purist Patisserie for their cakes, as its located just behind my house. Their newest creation, Bao is made up of cereal milk, caramelised milk and chocolate popping candy and made to resemble liu sha bao. The caramelised cake indeed flowed when i cut the cake, even after its has been in the fridge for quite awhile. Taste wise, it was actually quite sweet for me but the chocolate popping candy does add some fun to the overall cake. On the other hand, Wally Melon fell short on taste, the melon was masked over by the walnut, making it less enjoyable. My favourite of the lot was Pink Panther, which consisted of rosewater, pomegranate, grapefruit and almonds. You could really taste all four components together in one bite, the fragrance of the rosewater, to the tartness of the pomegranate, the crunchiness of the almond, and ending of with the bitterness from the grapefruit. It's like an explosion of flavours in the mouth.

Hidden Patisserie That Serves Amazing Desserts Entremets constantly amazed me. There are so much complexity in making them usually. Layers after layers or portion within a portion. Located in the secret grounds of a private estate within hougang, purist serves very delightful entremets that are crafted with superior skills. The fleur is a combi of rose raspberry cream, white chocolate circlet and lychee miniature spherical sacs. Different dimensions within the dessert: the cream, pastry crust, tiny layer of cake etc. Definitely the most experiential dessert of them all.

Had To Order More Rice To Finish All The Food! Our favorites were the curry chicken with charcoal you tiao, sticky shiok sotong and slow-braised pork belly. The sauce were so yummy that we had to order more rice to finish them off! Also had the crispy pork belly and shrimpy calamari which were crunchy and would go so well with beer and whisky!

Pulaut Hitam $5.90 A nice warm comforting dessert. Quite expensive though for a small bowl. Only order if you’re willing to splurge Dishes ordered but not featured: 1)Slow Braised Pork (Food King recommended) This unassuming dish took us by surprise. Chunks were tender and cooked well in the sweet sauce. Felt like a home-cooked dish. One of our favourites here :> 2) Curry Chicken with Charcoal You Tiao (Food King recommended) Value for money, relatively large portion size that can feed 2 people. Taste wise it wasn’t outstanding. You tiao wasn’t fresh- it lacked the crispy bite to it. Wouldn’t order this again 3) Fermented fried pork belly $14.9 Not worth it at all do not order. What you get is deep fried small bits of pork belly. Not a substantial dish and neither was it particularly good. 4) Meepok Carbonara Sauce was nice and thick very flavourful. Came with nicely smoked bacon bits and shitake mushrooms. Had high hopes for this dish as it was one of the more popular ones but the meepok still had an alkaline taste to it- disappointing. Can get quite jelak after the first few bites so i recommend sharing. Overall quite a good effort in combining both local and western flavours but the noodles can be improved.
