My First Impossible Once you get past the strong fermented scent, digging into the Impossible Burger at Stamford Brasserie was a pleasant surprise. Strangely does taste like real meat! Unfortunately, it didn鈥檛 wow me enough to justify the price that impossible meats are normally tagged with.

an underwhelming experience I had visited TSB once before and quite enjoyed my meal then, so this was disappointing in comparison. We shared the TSB burger ($26++) which was highly rated but we found the 鈥渨agyu鈥 patty dry, crumbly and cold. We actually enjoyed the brioche pepper bun more. Our other item was the roasted baby chicken ($22++), which fared better. While not flavourful, the chicken was at least moist and tender. We enjoyed the grilled brussel sprouts and garlic mashed potato - these gave flavour that the chicken was otherwise lacking. Service left much to be desired as it was difficult to get hold of the servers for simple things like water and the bill. Hoping that TSB will perform better on the next visit!
Impossible Burger I am a Yellowcarnivore because I generally love my meat and lack an affinity with most vegetables (opps). Having said that, I have been curious to try The Impossible Burger for the longest time ever because of the amazing reviews online. I finally tried The Impossible Burger ($23) at The Stamford Brasserie and I can only say that the reviews are true: how can a plant-based patty tastes so much like a legit medium-seared beef patty馃槺! The patty is juicy and flavourful - a little on the salty side but not that I mind given my salty tooth. I guess the unsalted chips at the side balanced it out:P The delicious patty goes well with melted cheese, pickles, tomato and Brioche Pepper bun - didn鈥檛 expect it to be this good:)!

Lunch At Famous Kitchen Had 8 dishes for 6 of us. Do look at the menu before making reservation. A lot of the items require reservation. Fire chicken, chicken ginseng soup, hashima and many more. As it was not mentioned to me, I ordered what is available. The oysters at 5 dollars each was not bad. The cockles is nice too.
Volcano chicken ($48) 猸愶笍 4/5 猸愶笍 馃嵈It鈥檚 quite pricey for a chicken (even if it鈥檚 a whole chicken) but it鈥檚 one delicious & succulent chicken. The meat is moist and tender with a roasted skin. It comes with two delicious sauces that pair well with the chicken, one that鈥檚 sweeter green chili & one that鈥檚 more savory garlic-ginger paste. The volcano 鈥渇laming鈥 effect is more for show and wow factor but the addition of alcohol & flames hardly does anything taste-wise 馃搷@thefamouskitchen, 54 Sembawang Road
Salted Baked Flower Crabs Long heard of the legendary salted baked crabs. Today we made our way to the original outlet in sembawang. After eating this signature dish which takes a much longer amount of time to arrive than the rest of the other dishes, we are fully convinced why THIS IS their signature and why THIS IS legendary. Wok hei and saltiness were fully immersed into the meats of the crabs - fantastic marriage of smoky and savoury flavours. Flower crabs are not the most meaty of crabs, but the great taste compensates for the lack in crab flesh. We regretted ordering only two after the meal. So you know what to do when you are there :)
