Getting back into the routine of waking up to an alarm; this day last week, I was still chilling out and looking forward to the Burpple Tastemakers Eat-up. 😪 This morning, I'm craving for this warm pillow of dough garnished with butter and as much bourbon maple syrup as you want to douse it in.
This is one of the few lunch set options available at Comnam. Nicely arranged within the bowl of broken rice are a sunny-side up egg, pickles and three large fried chicken balls that have been cooked in a light tomato-based sauce. Although springy, the chicken balls came across as a little too processed to me.
However, I do think the lunch sets here offer pretty good value for money because they come with a bowl of clear, sour-sweet soup and a drink of your choice (lotus tea or Vietnamese coffee).
$14. Satisfying brunch of perfectly poached egg, generous thick slab of tasty grilled ham, melted cheddar&emmental cheese, fragrant bread. The portion was quite filling for me probably because of the 3 layers of bread. Sadly, I can't get my churros fix here cos I'm too full, might come back for it!
Lotong is a traditional dish that passed down from many decades ago. Ingredients are mainly made of compressed rice cake with other ingredients like cabbage, beancurd, potato etc.
It is commonly found in Singapore, Malaysia & Indonesia. It's at a rare sight that you can easily find a good bowl of lotong in Singapore. I believe the pioneer hawkers still serve the best with the traditional recipe.
A sweet ending for any night, the pancakes were a little too chewy for my preference, but who can resist caramelised bananas and ice cream?! Sync Korean Tapas Bar is the first Korean Tapas Bar in Singapore following the success of Sync Bistro at Westgate Mall serving Korean fusion dishes.
