What sets this Bak Chor Mee apart from the others is that each bowl of noodles come with an onsen egg and a piece of fish maw. The noodles were all cooked to perfection, having the springy and chewy texture to it. The "Zhup" nicely rounds it off with an umami flavour from the vinegar and a kick at the back of the throat from the chilli. Since their success in 1997 back when they were still in Maxwell food centre, they have now expanded to having several outlets across Singapore with the latest on being Jewel Changi.

This pork chop curry rice was simply delightful. The curry was thick, fragrant with the right amount of spice. The chicken chop was thick and gave a substantial bite to it.

Nope! Despite having a setup looking almost exactly like the popular Hai Di Lao Hotpot, Shi Jian Hotpot has made a name for itself for its hotpot buffet (S$28.80+ for lunch, S$32.80+ for dinner). Having a plethora of ingredients for you to choose from together with 7 different soup bases to choose from, this makes Shi Jian Hotpot a much cheaper alternative. With the prices inclusive of drinks and a wide selection of sauces to choose from, I found it extremely value for and would definitely give Shi Jian Hotpot another go.⠀

Secret Bubble Tea Croissant?

Well, ever since Brother Bird has released their custard filled croissants, they have been an absolute sell out everyday. What many may not know is their secret Boba Croissaint thats only available on the weekends. Filled with a caramelised milk tea custard, it kind of reminds me of a brown sugar milk tea. In addition, bits of boba pearls are also found in the croissant giving a chewy texture contrasting the crispy outer.

Unagiya Ichinoji Anniversary Menu

Starting now till the 20th May 2019, you could enjoy Unagiya Ichinoji special menu. My favourite in the menu has to be the Ichinoji Mixed Box (S$36.80). While the restaurant is famed for their charcoal grilled Unagi, this rice box also gives you a wide variety of ingredients including A5 Wagyu, Kuras and chopped up sashimi. While it might be slightly pricey for a quick lunch, the ingredients used was extremely premium such as the A5 Wagyu which melted in my mouth and the Unagi which had a pronounced sweetness and smokiness.

I had high hopes for the shaker fries with my expectations anchored on Macdonald’s one. However this one lacked any seaweed flavour and the seaweed “topping” was just for show. Definitely would not recommend.

Thick, succulent, double chicken patty between two slices of bread that are nicely toasted with honey & butter. Every bite is flavor-packed and substantial. This is the double spicy chicken cutlet!! Must try :)

A warm comforting serving of white seafood beehoon soup for the rainy days!! :”) Strong seafood-infused broth and generous amount of fried egg and seafood ingredients. Really good for the tummy and soul ☺️ it’s priced at $5.80, $5.22 if you use the tuckshop app

It was an interesting experience to see chefs from all across the world fight it out head to head. we also got to sample some of their dishes like this Crab Cake topped with remoulade sauce to round the flavours up as well as a touch of lemon to accentuate the sweetness of the crab meat..⠀
