Lovely Artisanal Teas in Raffles Xchange The iced Melona Manpuku tea with winter jelly was a green tea brew with subtle hints of muskmelon. Read more: https://www.misstamchiak.com/roji-chaseki/

Purple Sweet Potato Iced Lattero ROJI Purple Sweet Potato Iced Lattero ROJI ($6.40) . @RojiChaseki recently opened at Raffles Exchange and carries a range of aromatic teas with samples displayed prominently at the store front. I smelt each test tube and fell in love with the scents from all of them but for starters, I tried their Purple Sweet Potato Iced Lattero as the warm weather really demanded an iced cold treat. The drink came with complimentary cheese foam which I found to be way better than those served at Liho and Heetea as the cheese flavour was light and only served to give you that smooth soothing mouth-feel with each gulp. The purple sweet potato taste was also very distinct with tinge of roastiness which I really enjoyed. My only gripe about the place was its lack of manpower which was essentially a one-man show that led to a 25 minutes wait with just 4 customers in front of me. Kudos to the service staff who remained pleasant and polite and got all the orders correct in the face of a small crowd of customers waiting!

Living This Moment Now 'Living this moment now', the phrase on the cup says. Chanced upon this tea shop while walking kinda aimlessly around the area trying to find a nice drink to quench my thirst. Being adventurous as always, I decided to get from this shop and chose Tsubaki Oolong with golden pearls to be safe (the Xoxolat Hojicha seems interesting too). The price for the basic teas are standard ($3.50 for hot and $4.50 for cold) unless you are getting flavoured fruit teas or iced lattero. And the basic teas come with free toppings too! The tea tasted refreshing with a hint of something that I cannot pinpoint to (my dad thinks that it's an Indian spice lol) - I'm guessing it might be camellia flower since Tsubaki means camellia flower in Japanese. I'm glad to see more tea shops popping up in SG selling a variety of basic teas. Can't wait to try the hojicha next!

Nobody wants to put frozen seafood on the menu. Or so I thought. Meh...not impressed with the fish and the “hand-rolled” linguine. While frozen may be the new fresh, I maintain fresh is always better when it comes to seafood. What I am taking away from dining at this restaurant is that restaurants classification should include the following categories: "fresh seafood" and "frozen seafood".

Red Snapper Don’t come here. Food is barely even mediocre, (tho the snapper was edible) for the price they make you pay. The only thing this restaurant nailed was the ambience. Perfect ambience, haha.

Grilled Pork Belly ($26++) Snag my last chance to enjoy 1 for 1 at Joo Bar and no other person to enjoy it with than my mum 😬 It is not difficult to understand why this place is so popular, the slightly pricey Korean small and big bites somehow works with the generous (for light drinkers) low alcoholic content Makgeolli. The above dish feels good till you stop at the salad concoction that surprises you with bites of small anchovies, an excellent well thought side.

Flaming Chick Jumeokbap ($24). Warning: this is really not for the faint-hearted nor diners with low heat tolerance. Served in a hot plate and lit with a flame torch right in front of your eyes, this flaming chick jumeokbap‘s spiciness is not one to be underestimated. Spicy chicken thighs in chunks, pickled radish, shiitake mushroom, king oyster mushrooms and a ball of seaweed rice. Just as the dish was lit with fire, my tongue was too, with the dish. Thought the combination of the side ingredients especially the rice ball was a little out of place in the dish, but overall still decent taste. Perhaps they might want to consider lowering the spiciness.

At $26 for bar snacks, @joobarsg ‘s LA style Black Angus kalbi is pricey and difficult to eat elegantly. But IT IS SO VERY WORTH IT. The bone-in short rib is steeped in some special soy marinade which makes it really nice and sweet and idk just amazing??? Fun Fact: The internet tells us that the “LA Kalbi / Galbi” cut (which means thinly sliced across the bone) originated from Korean immigrants living in Los Angeles. And the LA stands for lateral and not Los Angeles!

Gula Meleka Waffles Look at the serving of (salted caramel) ice cream!!!! There was too much ice cream and too little waffle. But then again, waffle machines usually come in fixed sizes.... Overall a decent waffle, though pricey ($16 I think?)

Have always felt that Craftsmen serves one of the best iced mocha around, so we decided to pay them a visit again to try out their Craftsmen Big Breakfast ($25) and Craftsmen Big Burger ($21)! For every big breakfast meal, my first line of business would be to attack the eggs as I feel that the quality of it would be a good gauge for the rest of the ingredients. Nestled on top of a sourdough bread, the scrambled eggs were pretty creamy, although it did lack the oomph factor. The bacon and sausages were slightly tough and dry, and I would have appreciated the sautéed mushrooms being more juicy! For the burger set, we love the sweet potato fries which were thick and crisp to perfection. The meat patty in the burger was not as flavourful as we expected though. 😔 No doubt that the meal was hearty as it filled us up nicely, but we felt that the food was pretty mediocre for its price. 🤔 Location-wise, it is definitely more convenient as compared to other cafes, so it is a good place to catch up with your friends over a cup of cuppa! The ANTicipated scale ⚖ 👅Flavour: 7 ants 💰Value: 7 ants 📍Convenience: 8 ants

Iced Roasted Almond Latte ($7) Just a sip and you can taste the roast. Probably the largest cup of iced latte served in a cafe.
