The idea was there but the chef might want to improve on its taste. There was no contrast in texture (once the warm chocolate melted everything). The entire dessert just tasted sweet.
After the son took over the business, they expanded to many other branches even to Singapore. More opportunities to taste them but sadly the sons didn't master the skills from their dad. (Regret that I didn't use flash)
Grand finale of Teppei's $80++ omakase. Had my second experience there last night and found it so much more fulfilling than the first; this time, the foie gras and beef were done right and there were 4 courses of fish, as opposed to the previous visit which had too many small veggie bites.
It made me think that all octopus were created equal on this planet.

I am partial to pig's spare parts and crispy pork lard, so this stall makes me do cartwheels of delight with their exotic, so-bad-yet-so-good options to add to my prawn noodles. The soup here is super slurp-worthy but I go through phases where I simply must have the dry version with its tasty chilli. Thankfully, it comes with a small bowl of the soup.
Not peanut butter, but Nutella (which is very nearly as good) and caramelised banana fill this French toast, with vanilla ice cream on the side. Simple but so satisfying. Available only during weekend brunch.
There is something about eating fresh pork that words can't begin to describe. Because all of the pork we get in Singapore is frozen or chilled for importation, I consider it a real luxury when I get to have freshly-butchered meat that's never seen the inside of a mobile refrigeration unit. It tastes so good and juicy even when prepared very simply. Like this dish we had for instance. The pork was first boiled, then sliced and drenched in lightest soya sauce, followed by a garnishing of golden-brown fried minced garlic and coriander. Being so naturally sweet and flavourful, you don't need much else for it to taste phenomenal.

The octopus is bought fresh from the market daily and steamed with lots of golden garlic bits and spring onion. According to the chef-owner who hails from Ipoh, this is a cooking style from Perak. He's perfected the time needed for steaming so the octopus is beautifully springy and crunchy.
