As I was there slightly late, the stall usually sells out by 1-2pm, there were only a few dishes left and fortunately, there was still the beef rendang, bergedil and some tau they for me to choose with my rice. The star of the plate was undoubtedly the beef rendang that was cooked in an aromatic and coconuty creamy rempah. The meat was also not dry and tough like many other places which was a huge plus point for me. As this is inside a staff’s cafeteria, the stall is only opened on weekdays.

Not many stalls were open during to the Heightened alert. This is one of the most popular stall but it was deserted during lunch hour. Decided to support auntie and dabao back. The chicken chop is huge and tasty. Probably better to eat on the spot as it was cold by the time I reach home.
This place is a gem. The western food stall is always having a long queue. Where else can you get such a huge chicken chop at this price in town? You can customize your set with different sides.
Decent bowl of Yong Tau Foo. It’s not the best ytf I had but for the price it’s definitely value for money.
This is my go-to place for affordable lunch in town. One of the hidden gem. Didn’t expect much from this white beehoon but this is surprisingly good. I’ll say it’s even better than the famous stall I’ve tried at Bukit Timah food centre. Generous ingredients are given, the broth is tasty and sweet. Surprised to see the huge fried omelette hidden under the beehoon. I have only one complain, most of the lala were empty shells except for two pieces lol~
Open on weekdays till 2.30pm but most stalls are closed by 2pm.
Bar chor mee is affordable at only $2.90 (S) and $3.50(L) at somerset area. Tasted not too bad.
Lunch was an unassuming bowl of beef noodles in peppery broth at Singtel Comcentre. It’s a short walk across the road from Somerset MRT Station Exit A.
It’s a dark air-conditioned cafeteria selling the usual likes such as Western food and Asian food.
The beef noodles were quite average but I liked that the broth had a slight peppery taste to it. There were only a few beef pieces, which didn’t stand out, but woah... the noodles. They were springy and chewy, and the portion was quite massive, all underneath the soup.
Overall, a decent meal to keep me working through the rest of the day.
At only $5.90, you get chicken, pasta, potato, corn, beans, grapes and an egg on top of the greens! If I'm not wrong, they don't have this everyday but when they do, its while stocks last and sells out REALLY FAST. That's why J gave the boss a call to preorder when she got to know that they have it 😂

Gave the aunty a shock when she asked "Chill or Curry?", I replied "Both and more chilli please." 😂 結果是辣到有點要飆泪的感覺，不過很爽！Just in case y'all didn't know, the comcentre canteen is actually open to public! Definitely an option for affordable food in town area. 😍

Who knew that an inconspicuous canteen had this roasted meats stall. The stalls here are just known as roasted meat or wanton noodle or malay rice etc etc.

This is my 3-meats combo namely charsiew, roasted duck and roasted pork belly. Charsiew totally charred and caramelised on the outside. Sweet and totally lean so it does not have the melty texture. Duck with crisp golden skin and flesh was more tender. Roasted pork comes with a nice crackling skin. The deep black sauce was thick and gooey with a sweet salty finish. Soup is a side order. The pork rib lotus root soup with beans had a robust flavor. Served extremely piping hot which I loved.

This is a staff canteen located within Comcentre. Also opened to the public and of course public have to pay a slightly higher cost for food which is still quite reasonable. Good to know ... go by the entrance located at Killiney Road. Expect queues during peak hours.
