Returned for some beef noodles at Blanco Court Traditional Hainan Beef Noodles one evening to find an expanded menu. As I've been a hardcore "kiam chye" fan since childhood, I decided to try the sliced beef stir-fried with the salted vegetable rice set instead of my usual.
I feel the proportion of the "kiam chye" to beef could be improved as the former was rather overwhelming - the saltiness started to get to me after a a few bites. I ended up picking out the beef and pushing aside more than a third of the "kiam chye". Portion was pretty big though and I liked that it came with a fried egg and a bowl of concentrated beef broth.
Regardless of the less than completely satisfying meal this time, I am still enticed to return for their beef stir-fried with bittergourd and beef stir-fried with kailan next time. Because the food at this air-conditioned eatery that opens late, has always actually been really decent.
I'm in love... Portion, price, aircon... $10 for the works, good chilli... And in the east side where I live. As Arnie said, "I'll be back." ππΌ #burpple
While the beef slices were oh so tender, and LOOK, BEEF CURRY, we thought the bowl of noodles could've been more flavorful! Nonetheless, a nice place for a late dinner if you're in the vicinity of guillemard road!

The big & bright signboard at the store front gives you the feeling that it would promise honestly good beef noodles. At $6 a bowl, it was pretty average.
My sis-in-law's the one who introduced this long-time hawker stall (they started in 1979!) to me. About three months ago, they found a new air-conditioned home along Guillemard Road. To be exact, it's in a shophouse unit literally a stone's throw from the Old Badminton Hall building where Brawn & Brains cafe is situated.
I got the dry version of the classic mixed beef bowl ($8) and found that for the price, there's a decent amount of fresh sliced beef, beef brisket and caul lining. The thick beehoon (they also offer "kway teow" as an option) which came smothered in the classic starchy gravy, had the right texture and wasn't soggy. As for the soup, I am not embarrassed to say I held the bowl up to my face to drink up every tasty drop. In fact, it's yummy enough to tempt me to get the soup version on my next visit.
One thing about this place that impressed me especially is that the must-have condiments were all accounted for: chopped "kiam chye", fresh halves of lime, a damn stingingly-hot chilli sauce, the increasingly hard-to-find "cincalok"(fermented krill) and ground peanuts (not a fan personally but for others, it seems to be a very important ingredient).
Blanco Court Traditional Hainan Beef Noodles is open for lunch from 12 noon to 3pm, and in the evenings, they operate from 6pm to 3am. So when the hunger pangs refuse to let you sleep in the middle of the night, here's a supper place worth exploring.
A very tasty traditional beef noodles with good chilli sauce and cincalok (scrimp or krill sauce). Yummy yum yum yum. Posted by Ah Leong San 2016 February 11
Every morsel of meat is not wasted - great texture, bite, tenderness. Beef slices tasted beefy. πβ¨πChilli dip has just the right level of spiciness and garlic .Opens from 18:00-03:00.
** Quick dinner around the apartment and came across this beef noodle place. Though itβs no where close to the ones we tried in Taiwan, but Iβd say itβs not too bad. If you are there, skip the dry beef hor fun but go for the dry beef noodle or beef noodle soup. I preferred the beef ball over the sliced beef. One thing to kudos to is the chili - being a chili addict myself, that Iβd give 4/5 stars. βββββββββββββββ

Typically I ainβt so much of a local person and Iβve not patronize this place for the longest time but I must say that they does keep to their standard. Their noodle is al dante to local style not the usual βramenβ kind of slurps, itβs more dedicate as compare and you might have sauce splash all over if you're not gentle. The small size is good enough unless youβre really hungry, you might probably wanna go for either $8 or $10.
Overall experience was just alright for me, perhaps I donβt like the feeling of βafter-MSGEDβ, the entire mouth dries up and the feeling wasnβt quite nice. If you crave for a good local beef noodle in the east, I would recommend to choose the beef noodle with soup rather than the dry one. It's too much starch for my liking, and generally not that "healthy" too.

Too less meat. Sliced beef were tiny pieces that seemed to be lost beneath the chorbeehoon. Gooey gravy not beefy enough and had little flavor. The deep black broth fared much better with a well rounded beefy aftertone. Liked the crunchy beansprouts. The bright red chilli sauce had a very spicy heat which elevated the dry noodles to a wonderful crescendo.

At a cost of $6, it was alittle on the high side considering it was more noodles and beansprouts than beef. Other than that, still a decent bowl.

You could smell their aromatic beef soup a mile away. Its no surprise you can ask for extra serving of soup here, its so addictive that you cant stop drinking it. π
