4⭐ Mastercard has this promotion where 1 person get to dines free with minimum 2 person dining. However the restaurant manager inform us that we have to order 2 mains and the 3rd main is free. 🤷🏻‍♀️ I'm going to write in and clarify with Mastercard on this. End up, we order 1kg of mussels instead of 2 * 500g of mussels as this is slightly cheaper and the restaurant manager extend this to us this time round. Then 500g of mussel is on the house. The chili crab style mussels are not spicy and taste very much like the chili crab sauce. As for Au Roquefort style, there's blue cheese in the sauce but it's not overpowering.

A platter of sausages. Good with drinks. Spiced Italian sausage/ pork & cheddar/ snail sausage/ smoked pork & garlic/ smoked spicy chorizo. I liked that they weren’t too salty

100% beef - We enjoyed these juicy and well seasoned meatballs served with tangy tomato sauce!

There’s mussels in their name so of course we had to order it.

Sadly this turned out to be our least favourite dish because SOME (not all but still) of the mussels had a strange taste to it which we thought tasted like they were not the freshest of the lot - of which we were guaranteed that they’re fresh and it’s just the taste of the wine(????). So that was that. Additionally, the mussels weren’t as plump as I’d have liked but I understand it’s just a different type from what we are used to.

Fries were nicely crisp and addictive, so we also ordered truffle fries. Which came without any whiff or taste of truffle. We sent it back and thankfully it came back with obvious drizzles of truffle oil. Perhaps a little inattentive?

Well don’t let our experience mar any potential visits with them because other food was pretty good.

And I’ve seen several good reviews of other sauces with 7 for you to choose from! So maybe skip the Marinières (white wine, butter, parsley, onion - a classic!) we got and try what was recommended by others.

Oh and they’re on Burpple Beyond with one-for-one on these mussels. Wouldn’t mind heading back to try again with this deal as it could just be an one-off thing.

I love me a good pot of mussels, so this was definitely on my wishlist (especially since they’re on #BurppleBeyond). Their mussels come from France and are sweet, briny and fresh. They might be small, but each morsel is packed with flavour and depending on the sauce you pick to go with it, great with the fries too! I’d definitely recommend the Au Curry; a light red curry that’s slightly creamy and compliments the saltiness of the mussels well though I’d avoid the underwhelming Marinières (a white wine sauce).
