This reminds me that dish from Miss Clarity Cafe that was used to be around the corner. Breaking the breaded crust, you find a perfectly cooked chicken. The vegetables came over salted but the tasty sauce made up the shortcomings.
Thin slices of beef, tender as perfectly cooked shabu-shabu beef, with chunks of mushrooms and dollops of luxuriously creamy mashed potato, doused in a rich cream sauce. This is just ace.
Ground chicken patties with mashed potato. Tasted exactly like all the chicken cutlets I had in Eastern Europe, so I guess really authentic!
Traditional Russian salad with chicken (nowhere to be found except in the form of its offspring, the egg), diced vegetables, eggs and pickles, dressed with homemade mayo.
Probably one of the few that serve very authentic Russian dishes. And this never fail to impress at all. Couple with Russian vodka, and a good company. I am sold at this place. Sounded pretty good on paper, this "traditional Russian pie" with an epicentre of salmon, incubated with layers of rice and mushrooms – it's almost like a Russian salmon Wellington, but in shortcrust pastry. The filling was tasty, but needed a sauce of some kind to lubricate it, while the pretty "braided" pastry was too hard. I would have preferred something lighter and flakier as an outer shell.
