Fat Foa-gura Don (Set Lunch)

$43.00 · 65 Reviews

With medium Kagoshima wagyu A4 tenderloin, uni, caviar, ikura, foie gras, truffle oil and onsen egg. We upgraded the beef because why come to a Japanese restaurant to eat Australian wagyu? It was however chalky, which didn't make for a great experience, and barely beefy. I'd still get this bowl for the variety, of which the foie gras and uni were orgasmic.

Entertainer 1 for 1

Had to come here to make use of our entertainer deal and it was definitely worth it. So yummy and literally melts in your mouth!
Generous portion of foie gras which I felt was slightly overdone as it tasted like tau gwa but still nice overall. Choose this if you don’t like your beef to be overly fatty/ oily tasting.

The most worth it Entertainer 1-for-1 place. The premium donburi with foie gras was mindblowing good. The rice is cooked with beef fat and probably the one and only time where I like the rice better than the beef!

Very satisfying and flavourful glazed foie gras and wagyu. As a lunch set, this is pretty decent as it comes with salad, chawanmushi, miso soup and dessert.

Holy cow. 💫
Each bowl is a delectable mix of the melt-in-mouth tender beef thanks to the good marbling, small chunks of creamy seared foie gras, a scoop of uni and little mound of ikura (salmon roe) with a dash of truffle oil. It's a flavour burst of aroma, yet the most outstanding was the distinct charred aroma from the beef thanks to it's time on the live charcoal grill. So much so, the distinct taste still came up hours later after a burp 🙊
Warning: May cause a hole in the pocket, but it can be stitched up a little with The Entertainer. Enjoy the remainder of the weekend ~ Thanks for the recc and such a treat (: #herpenandfork #burpple #sgfood #sgfoodblogger #8dayseat #sgblogger #cafehoppingsg #fatcowsg

Previously they offered Wagyu which was already to-die-for. Fat Cow has up it Kagoshima A4 and even this Nagasaki A5 Striploin. Man, we just died and gone to heaven.
In addition to these awesome-licious steak, the bowl was filled with quality uni, caviar, foie gras and onsen egg, complete with truffle oil. It was just perfect.

Answer: You now get 3 types of Wagyu to choose from, namely Australian Wagyu MB8 ($98++), Kagoshima A4 Tenderloin ($148++) and Nagasaki A5 Striploin ($158++).
Whichever beef is chosen, it is grilled over charcoal then sliced into neat pieces that are then arranged on a bowl of Japanese rice. The other lavish toppings alongside the smoky beef are large cubes of pan-fried foie gras, uni, caviar, ikura and freshly shaved black truffle. An onsen egg and a drizzle of truffle oil add the finishing touch to this bowl of ultra decadence.

This bowl basically contained all my favourite foods! Wagyu beef, foie gras, onsen egg, uni and caviar.

Every part was rather well executed, but the uni wasnt the freshest, and was definitely expecting more when im paying $100 for a bowl!

Regardless, was a good dish overall :)

Finally managed to try Fatcow’s premium donburi (sliced wagyu steak on rice with truffle, uni, caviar, foie gras & onsen egg). Extremely rich tasting dish! Woo! Flavours will blow your mind. 🤯 Second running dish was the sukiyaki wagyu beef which just melts in ya mouth. 🤤

Thank god for entertainer 1-for-1s. The don was great, not mind-blowing, just great. The wagyu was great, nothing to complain about or rave more. The other ingredients were good too. But to me, the star ingredient was really the foie gras. Really helped elevated the dish.

Would I go back again? Yes definitely, if I could redeem 1-for-1 deals.
