This black garlic ramen was disappointing because of how bland the tonkotsu broth was. It also lacked the garlic punch I was looking for. You could add a ramen egg for $2, which I did. Despite the great texture of the egg, it unfortunately did not have much flavour. The quality and texture of Chashu was great though.

This bowl of flaming hot tonkotsu ramen was indeed flaming hot. I personally thought that while the spiciness was bearable, it really packed a punch, and was much spicier than spicier ramens elsewhere. I enjoyed this bowl more than the black garlic ramen, because I thought it had much more flavour in general. Chashu was surprisingly soft and melt-in-your-mouth tender.

Back here for a second time! We tried the Signature Dry Truffle Ramen ($16.90),Β Black Garlic Ramen ($14.90) and a side of Pork Gyoza ($6.90).
This time round, I was pleasantly surprised by how moist the dry truffle ramen was as it seems to have more oil mixed into the ramen. I recalled that during my last visit a few years back, i did not enjoy how dry and sticky (from the eggs being mixed into the ramen) the ramen was.
I enjoyed the broth of the black garlic ramen as the black garlic flavour gave a different twist to the tonkotsu broth. The gyoza was rather average but a good side to pair with the ramen.

2 suite ramens @ "Kanshoku Ramen Place" π
*****
Just drop by there for a quick lunch as there are only a few ramen places in Orchard central and this one looks promising in term of proximity & ramen names (truffles, black garlic). π
.
We ordered "signature kanshoku ramen" $13.90 (Charshu, black fungus, seaweed & spring onion) with Ajitama egg topping (+$2) and "shoyu ramen" $13.90. π₯
.
Generous with 3 slices of Charshu per bowl but the broth is rather sweet. π£ The ramen price and most topping is higher than other ramen places we had so far in SG so our expectation is high. Bear in mind that total bill will also have service charge & GST++. We feel the quality might not be on a par with the bucks we spent. π€

Ramen was abit overcooked, though we opted for the 'normal' level of texture. Broth was ok. I ordered the black garlic flavour, but it wasn't very tasty. It tasted more like their original broth, with just a pinch of garlic. Spicy red broth wasn't as spicy either. It's an OKAY ramen place to go, if you want something that is slightly more accessible than the neighboring Japanese restaurants street at Cuppage.
Signature Kanshoku Ramen $14.90
Black Garlic Ramen $14.90
Spicy Tonkotsu Ramen $14.90
Flaming Hot Tonkotsu Ramen $14.90

I personally love the black garlic and truffle ramen. If you prefer something light on your palate, the signature Kanshoku ramen will do π
On days when you want something lighter, I would suggest going for the Signature Kanshouku Ramen or the Truffle Ramen (dry) - imo, it's a rather good combi!
