Black Garlic Ramen

$14.90 Β· 13 Reviews

Back here for a second time! We tried the Signature Dry Truffle Ramen ($16.90),Β Black Garlic Ramen ($14.90) and a side of Pork Gyoza ($6.90).

This time round, I was pleasantly surprised by how moist the dry truffle ramen was as it seems to have more oil mixed into the ramen. I recalled that during my last visit a few years back, i did not enjoy how dry and sticky (from the eggs being mixed into the ramen) the ramen was.

I enjoyed the broth of the black garlic ramen as the black garlic flavour gave a different twist to the tonkotsu broth. The gyoza was rather average but a good side to pair with the ramen.

2 suite ramens @ "Kanshoku Ramen Place" 🍜
*****
Just drop by there for a quick lunch as there are only a few ramen places in Orchard central and this one looks promising in term of proximity & ramen names (truffles, black garlic). 😍
.
We ordered "signature kanshoku ramen" $13.90 (Charshu, black fungus, seaweed & spring onion) with Ajitama egg topping (+$2) and "shoyu ramen" $13.90. πŸ₯š
.
Generous with 3 slices of Charshu per bowl but the broth is rather sweet. 😣 The ramen price and most topping is higher than other ramen places we had so far in SG so our expectation is high. Bear in mind that total bill will also have service charge & GST++. We feel the quality might not be on a par with the bucks we spent. πŸ€‘

Ramen was abit overcooked, though we opted for the 'normal' level of texture. Broth was ok. I ordered the black garlic flavour, but it wasn't very tasty. It tasted more like their original broth, with just a pinch of garlic. Spicy red broth wasn't as spicy either. It's an OKAY ramen place to go, if you want something that is slightly more accessible than the neighboring Japanese restaurants street at Cuppage.

Signature Kanshoku Ramen $14.90
Black Garlic Ramen $14.90
Spicy Tonkotsu Ramen $14.90
Flaming Hot Tonkotsu Ramen $14.90
Shoyu Ramen $14.90
Truffle Ramen $16.90

I personally love the black garlic and truffle ramen. If you prefer something light on your palate, the signature Kanshoku ramen will do 🍜

On days when you want something lighter, I would suggest going for the Signature Kanshouku Ramen or the Truffle Ramen (dry) - imo, it's a rather good combi!

- Shoyu Ramen [$13.90]

Yes you heard me, Truffle Ramen. 😏

Thank you @kanshokuramen for the invite. 😊

What's on the table: Nagoya Chicken Wings, Black Truffle Ramen, Gambler's Gold (golden ale), Chicken Karaage, Truffle Edamame, Dragon's Back IPA, Black Garlic Ramen, and Spicy Tonkotsu Ramen.

My picks are the light yet brothy Signature Tonkotsu Ramen as well as the Black Garlic Ramen with bold flavours. I'd also recommend a bottle of Dragon's Back, a medium-bodied Hong Kong craft beer, to pair with the dishes.

Many thanks to Kanshoku Ramen for the warm hospitality and Burpple for the invitation!

There's a bowl of ramen here for everyone. We tried 4 out of 6 ramen offered at Kanshoku β€” Signature Kanshoku Ramen ($13.90), Black Garlic Ramen ($14.90), Spicy Tonkotsu Ramen ($14.90) and the Truffle Ramen ($16.90). Ramen egg is available at an additional $2. The signature Tonkotsu based ramen was light and easy to drink β€” would be perfect for those who enjoys a lighter broth, but I prefer it rich! The garlic ramen was power packed with the garlic flavor, which proved to be satisfying for myself. I found the spicy ramen to be slightly one dimensional and hoped that there was more richness in it. Many have flocked to Kanshoku for the truffle ramen and if you're an ultimate truffle fan, you will not be disappointed. There was lots of truffle-ness within completed with two grilled charshu and truffle shavings. Conveniently located at first level of Orchard Central, now you know where you can get your ramen fix in the central area!
