Chan BBQ Sambal Stingray #01-24

12 Reviews

Cooling weather calls for bbq and spicy food!๐Ÿ”ฅThe bbq chicken ๐Ÿ“ wings (one of the corner stores near Chan BBQ) was juicy but sure did not win the ones I had from JB Meldrum Walk just opposite City Square featured in an older post! The sting-ray from Chan BBQ had thick white meat and was really fresh! The sambal was spicy๐ŸŒถ and complements the fish well. Definitely a must order at Bedok 85 to make your meal here complete!โœจ .

๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ˜‹ BBQ Sambal Stingray for dinner in Bedok. Stingray is one of my favourite foods! Ordered the S$20 size, next time just order the $12/$15 size can already. Juicy meat with spicy sambal and a squeeze of lime. Recommend๐Ÿ‘.

Bedok 85 is an unrivalled hotspot for supper in the East. Besides BCM & Sambal Stingray, you can also look forward to desserts at a few neighbourhood ice-cream place to cool the ๐Ÿ”ฅ

Was walking around after dinner & found this new spot next to To-gather Cafe. The 1 ice cream scoop + 1 waffle set ($6.50) is pretty worth it, so I decided to give it a try even though Iโ€™m bursting at the seams from dinner.

There are 3 flavours to choose from for the waffle; Buttermilk, Chocolate & Red Velvet. For the ice cream, there are a plethora of flavours. I chose Speculoos (love the huge chunks of biscuit in the ice cream!) and Red Velvet waffle!

Overall, I really enjoyed it! The Speculoos wasnโ€™t overly sweet, the texture was almost chewy. The waffle was fluffy and light, with a nice crisp on the outside. Hot & cold, this combo bakes me crazy ๐Ÿ˜

There are several stalls but my favourite has always been Chan BBQ, who has been at the same location for many years. Served on a banana leaf, I think it's more to help add aroma to the dish than aesthetic. With a squeeze of lime, it's time to feast. Make a dash for it before the weekends end.

Just a need for sambal Stingray! At this stall, chomp chomp seafood!

Not one of the best, but still not bad!

[Fengshan Market & Food Centre] How can you order sambal stingray without ordering a plate of Sambal Lala ($12) too? Together with a bowl of rice and a plate of green vegetables, we can get the feasting going. My usual order will be from Chan BBQ, but I am seeing more of such seafood stalls opening in the hawker centre. I am truly spoilt for choice here.

[Fengshan Market & Food Centre] The quintessential item to order when at "Bedok 85" is a hotplate of Sambal Stingray ($12). There are several stalls but my favourite has always been Chan BBQ, who has been at the same location for many years. Served on a banana leaf, I think it's more to help add aroma to the dish than aesthetic. With a squeeze of lime, it's time to feast. Make a dash for it before the weekends end.

Back from Hong Kong! Sambal Stingray really hits the spot after not having anything spicy the entire trip #sgfood
