PS. Truffle Shoestring Fries

Still a huge serving, but I was kinda disappointed. It wasn't that enjoyable.

Am I only the one who found PS cafe’s truffle fries rly underwhelming? It was on my bucket list for the longest time and I had a lot of expectations - only to feel disappointed after trying it. The fries were served cold and bland. I was quite sure I have tried way better truffle fries at other random cafes out there sigh

This was sometime ago when PS introduced a new Brunch menu offering. Items:

Grilled Cheese with Tomato Soup
Mini Pancakes
Truffle Fries

💸 Spicy King Prawn Aglio Olio
💸 PS. Club (choice to top up for truffle fries)

Meal time at PS. Cafe is always such a joyous affair, we’ve been to quite a number of their outlets at different location and every location is so stunning, welcoming and photogenic in their own ways😌📸Our usual go-tos are their spicy king prawn aglio olio and PS. club sandwich. The aglio olio might be a tad too oily especially towards the end but it’s infused with that super strong prawn taste - absolutely love it!!💕 They also serve up some real good desserts like their sticky date/ ginger pudding☺️ Strongly recommended to make reservations before heading down to any of their outlets!!

Probably the best truffle fries around! 🥰

Prolly the best pasta I’ve had altho it’s a little oily. King prawns were rly plump 🤪 !!

Bubz got the PS burger and topped up for truffle fries instead of normal shoestring fries ($5++). Didn’t feel that the truffle fries were that great tho!! Expected a little more since it’s so raved about but I guess the dipping sauce (tomyum mayo ??) tasted really unique.

Both mains were $29.5++

Really lovely ambience for celebrations

Never understood why they took this sinfully mouthwatering salad off the menu at PS.Cafe. Other than the signature truffle fries, this is one dish i would order again and again at PS.Cafe if they hadn’t taken it off the menu. So this is kind of a tribute to an ingenious salad with an Asian twist. I was completely taken with the fragrant peanut sauce, crispy tofu noodles and cashew nut crunch atop a healthy mix of red cabbage, potatoes, sugar snap peas, avocado, bean sprouts and quail eggs. I say bring back this Gado Gado Salad already, PS.Cafe!

A big bowl of happiness. :D
Personally feel that P.S Cafe makes one of the truffle fries out there. ($15++)
Consistent in quality and I love how they spam the truffle and cheese.

Review 💬: Have been wanting to go to P.S Cafe for the longest time ever, and my cousin decided to treat me for my birthday! I got the spicy king prawn aglio olio and it was the best aglio olio I’ve ever had, hands down. Pasta was al dente, not too oily and the prawns were juicy and plump. Love that there were also greens like snap peas which added extra sweetness and texture to the dish. Truffle fries were as good as what I had expected, a strong match against The Lokal's. The truffle taste was distinct and the fries itself weren't oily or too crispy, just how I like my truffle fries. My cousin had the croque monsieur which I had a bite of and thought was pretty good, although it wasn't much to shout about, tasting like any other croque monsieurs. She also surprised me with a cake, the chocolate nut doorstop and it was one of the best chocolate cake I've ever had in my life. I'm a big fan of sponge cakes, but this cake really took the cake for me. Comprising of three separate layers, the bottom was a dense chocolate cake base which tasted similar to a brownie, the middle was made up of caramelised almonds, walnuts and pecans - some of my favourites! - and although caramelised, it wasn't too sweet when paired with the other components of the cake. Top layer was a chocolate mousse and it was light and thus didn't feel too rich or surfeit. Service was also really really good, the staff were always smiling and kept joking with us. They even sang the birthday song with my cousin when they served us the cake LOL. Overall a good meal and time, definitely somewhere I would return to for special occasions, or just because I feel like I deserve a treat!

🤔: Totally understand why people refer to P.S's truffle fries as the best. I'm a fat fries lover, but this one really won me over. Fries weren't too oily and had a distinct truffle fries taste to it. Love the shaved parmesan on it because let's be real, who doesn't love cheese on fries.
