It has been more than a year since I last visited Thailand and boy do I miss the place, its people and most definitely, the food. I have always made it a point to avoid ordering Phad Thai in Singapore due to the sheer number of times that I have been disappointed but not anymore, the Phad Thai here at @folkscollective instantly sends my tastebuds and me back to Thailand!

Helmed by 4 talented chefs hailing from the Land of Smiles, it is no wonder that the Softshell Crab Phad Thai ($18.90) here as well as most of the many dishes that we have tried hits all the right spots! While we were here, I also observed that there were quite a number of Thais visiting the eatery as well; now, you can be assured of their authenticity!

Apart from the Phad Thai, some of my favourite dishes here include:

Steamed Squid With Garlic & Lime ($23.90); cooked to perfection and with simple ingredients, it is choke-full of flavours while ensuring that you can still taste the freshness and sweetness of the squid
Chef's Fruit Salad ($18); part of the CNY menu, this medley of fruits accompanied by a Thai sauce is super refreshing and helps to clean your palates in between dishes
Spatchcock Chicken ($24); if looks could fool, this is it! This ordinary looking grilled chicken is packed full of flavours due to it being marinated in a blend of corainder roots, garlic and fish sauce before it is grilled to perfection. The method of cooking is spot on as well as it helps to lock in the juices and make the meat super tender, must-try!

We also had the pleasure to try some other great dishes like the Yellow Coconut Crab Curry ($15), Royal Kapi Rice ($15), Pork Belly & Long Beans ($20) as well as desserts like the Ice Cream Kati ($6.90) and Red Ruby ($6.90)

Sawadee ka! 🙏🏻 I am sure many of us miss the days where we can just hop on a plane to BKK (mine was budget airline..😛) over the weekend for authentic Thai food and endless massages.

The authentic, scrumptious dish offerings @folkscollective defo made me reminisce the good ol’ days. It covers a wide variety of target customer segments for all occasions. Yes, including vegetarians!

🕰 The unique, vintage décor focused around the theme “Where good folks gather”, to enable patrons to enjoy communal dining & reconnect with good friends & family over authentic Thai food.

The monthly Chef’s Menu [curated by their 4 Thai Chefs] offers a refreshing option to the main menu that keeps you in anticipation what the next month will bring!

🌿Vegetarian Friendly, Gluten free, no egg or no garlic options available upon request
🐶 Pet friendly for their outdoor dining

You'll find quick and easy Thai lunch sets (from $9.90) at this pretty China Square restaurant, which also has sister outlets in AXA Tower and Asia Square. Think sets like Pineapple Fried Rice with Chicken Floss and Chicken Tom Yam Soup, or Green Curry with Mini Omelette over rice. Burppler Judy Choong calls this a "very pleasant lunch place with spacious seating to take in the lunch crowds yet not give diners the 'suffocating feel'.

Went there for lunch with colleagues. We ordered 2 Set B, 1 Set C and a serving of Prawn cake. Prawn cake was decent, the set meals were terrible. The food was not hot, not even warm at all! Chicken in set C tasted like it had been cooked for a while.. Dry and tasteless. Shame considering the ambience and interior are nice, service was mediocre. Would not recommend to anyone.

Got Set C ($10.90++) Green Curry + Chicken. One of my friends food wasn’t hot so we had to ask the kitchen to reheat the food. Chicken was tasted like it was reheated a tad too many times. Go with Set C next time. Ambience was good though.

Had the lunch set B (10.90++)! It was good, pity the portion was on the small side. Had vegetarian options as well. Place was loud and cold though 😅😅
