Hidden And affordable legit Korean place. Really delicious and crunchy. ASMR whole new level. 🀀🀀

Affordable and hidden traditional korean restaurant in a corner of Bukit Timah Shopping Centre! Back again for the 2nd time and this time I tried the fried chicken and it was daebak!! πŸ˜‹ Very spicy but savoury in every bite, eat with your hand as you please 😊

Tried the seafood instead of the kimchi pancake this time. Batter was good and pancake was crispy and savoury with its dipping sauce.

Spiciness was alright and there was tteokpoki inside the cheese ramen πŸ€—πŸ˜‹

Went for the lunch set meal which was pretty affordable. Ordered the kimchi pork stew which had a flavourful blend of kimchi and tender pork in it. Side dishes were also delicious and could be refilled for free. Although my meal did not come with a drink, but I was offered one free of charge.

Value for money rooster set ($55; fried chicken + ginseng chicken soup + pork / chicken bulgolgi) + $16 eel. Really worth the money for this hidden find at upper bukit timah with homely ambience and friendly korean ahjumma (aka the boss) who comes around to say hi πŸ˜‹

The batter used in the pancake was actually quite tasty but it was way too oily for a satisfying eat. It was also fried a little too long, resulting in a hard crunch all around its sides rather than the nice crisp I always look out for. Would be great if they cut down on the oil! They seem to offer good value group meals and that might be what to look out for here instead!

Ordered a variety of wonderful dishes but really want to stress how the pancakes here are the absolute absolute best! The Pancakes ($16?) are crispy on the edges but soft and fluffy inside! They're perfectly seasoned and accompanied with the most exciting sauce! Highly recommend for all k-food lovers!

Let's have some sausage and ham soup. Aka Army Stew. Think it's missing some ingredients like cheese and pork belly. Maybe weekend is a good time to make it at home. Hehe.

Good traditional Korean family meal. It's authentic and gave me a better impression of Korean food. The seafood kimchi pancake was particularly flavorful.

Pleasant first experience at the gayageum Korean family restaurant! :) great service and the food was served with great presentation as well. The food was substantial in amount and particularly for ginseng chicken soup was rich and chicken was pleasantly tender. The glutinous rice was nicely cooked, a pleasant surprise when cutting into the whole chicken. Atmosphere was cosy! Will definitely go again :)

A meal on its own! A little on the salty side. Best to remove ramyeon early when its cooked. Ours expanded and took up half the pot lol

They have a few versions, such as the Sausage and Ham Soup (S - $29; L - $39) as shown in my picture and Kimchi Pork Soup.
For non-spicy lovers craving for a soupy meal, they also have Seafood and Rice Cake Ramen Soup or Ginseng Chicken Soup. You will be spoilt for choices with over 10 varieties.
Have been patronizing their shop for a few years but recently felt that the standard has dropped, with more sourish kimchi and less spicy base.

Korean Garlic Fried Chicken drench in spicy soy sauce. Shiokness! Don't be fooled, by the color, quite spicy!!

This fried chicken goes really well with soy and sweet sauce but I loved the latter 😍 The kimchi pancake in the backgroud may not be the focus, but it doesn't pale in comparison in terms of taste either :) #burpple #burpplesg #gayageumkoreanfamilyrestaurant #koreanfriedchicken #kimchipancake #whati8today #onthetable #tslmakan #stfoodtrending #sgeats #korean #igsg #sgfoodie #sgfood #exploresingapore
