Established in March 1996 by G. Shanmugam, this long-serving brand is amongst the most enduring, offering both North and South Indian fare in a homely, family-style setting.
.
Their mutton cubes are marinated with plain yoghurt and whole spices, simmered in water till tender, then reduced with a semi-dry curry of tomato and red onions.
.
The result is a tender chewy grainy dry texture, with deep meaty salty savoury tangy sour spice flavour. Best paired with white rice.

The perfect spherical milk solid doughnuts hint towards machine-formed, though the soft spongy texture is spot-on.
.
The hot golden flavoured syrup, along with pistachio nut bits, combine for deep floral nutty sweet flavour.
.
I like to slowly immerse each piece so that it absorbs the lovely syrup.

The hospitality and attentiveness of staff keep patrons of this 2-decade old casual eatery returning for more, as does their well-prepared South Indian dishes.
.
Their rendition is a side dish to accompany a meal, the thick curry paste coating the tender bone-in chicken, infusing it with robust meaty savoury earthy sweet spice flavour.
.
Not overly fiery, just tingling the palate to make you reach for more. Usually paired with a rice meal here.

Homely meals are the draw in this casual eatery, which has been serving since March 1996.

They're reowned for their curries and breads, the perfect complementing pair. Here, their chapati is served in a set, with 2 fluffy soft discs of unleavened flatbread, alongside a creamy dhal.
.
Has mild fragrant bready grainy sweet savoury flavour, with slightly more of a chew than elsewhere. Naturally, goes well with curry.

This premium version is only available here from 3pm onwards, an oddity as it's usually eaten at breakfast; though having it for high tea makes sense.
.
Served with a default 2 pieces, their Appam is large, with a soft warm moist center and thin crispy lacy edges, having aromatic grainy sweet savoury salty flavour.
.
Served with grainy orange coconut sugar crystals, and a sweetened coconut milk dip, both of which lend a lovely addictive layer of sweet notes to the dish. Excellent even on its own.

Deep-frying cauliflower seems to be popular across cultures. No complaints about this dish.
