Featured on Michelin Guide’s Bib Gourmand for their famous nasi padang, this place usually attracts large crowds during lunch time.

Thankfully they have an air-conditioned space for you to enjoy your meal. Lots of dishes to choose from their selections.

I gotten myself the beef rendang, egg, veggie and begedil.

A word of caution: even during weekday lunches it may be difficult to find seats. Feel free to use the reserved seats if you know you won't stay too long, or reserve a seat in advance

Food:
Delicious. Paru had a nice texture, not too rough. The sambal was aromatic and not too spicy. It's really really addictive

Must try

You can choose Assam pedas sauce as well

The roe is abit overcooked

Quite firm, the sauce does have a lot of spices but it's not top tier, feel like it's too dark and it's different from your usual sotong hitam taste

Still decent

Came back for this. Intensely umami from shrimp and sweet, the two kinds of lungs are really amazing tgt

Top left the custard was alright but the ratio was abit off. The beans in the rice was interesting though

Top right the coconut milk was damn salty, more salty than sweet so abit weird

Bottom left was serikaya w corn base. The corn custard could have been stronger

Bottom right was pandan custard basically. Not v strong either

Overall their nasi Padang really is quite well executed, esp certain dishes. No wonder they deserve the accolades they receive, this is the only nasi Padang I've had that left an impression so far

Quite weak

The light savoury gravy is good but the veggies have too much bite

Sundanese style grilled ckn

Nothing to complain about, except it's cold :((

It's cheaper cos the ckn is tinier but still very worth, the sauce isn't too spicy but it's terrible well balanced and very addictive and drinkable

Update: I have learnt that I made a mistake. It's probably lung and liver, and should be called mixed offal instead

Incredibly delicious. Theres at least 2 kinda of lung texture, one hard and one soft, and they combine wonderfully. The rempah is super savoury too, from dried shrimp I believe

Unbelievable, I couldn't stop

The beef was v tough, sauce was pretty good tho

Very thick, very tender, but the sambal is rlly mild, almost watery

Recommended by my friend and tried a few items include Tahu Telur (the most popular item).

Really nice quality of ingredients which I understand why they earned the Michelin guide.

Known this place from ex-colleague, few attempts to eat on Sunday was failed. Apparently the restaurant only opens Mon-Sat 7:00 to 20:00.

I decided to dropped by on weekday before lunch time, the queue has already formed outside the entry. They have 2nd floor seating, but a bit hassle to go up & down.

Once entered, I’m quite surprised with their wide selection of dishes, so many to choose from. Once captured my attention was siput sedut lemak in yellow coconut gravy. I could say this was my 1st time trying this dish. The flesh of the siput was soft, what an exotic dish. Just a bit worried of my cholesterol level.

I would prefer Sari Ratu Indonesian Restaurant for a more shiok nasi padang. Especially their sambal (red & green) is much more savoury compared to Hjh Maimunah.

Overall, still a good visit.

My 2nd post for this place. I think it’s safe to say this is my new fave joint in Singapore.

Can you say WOW, YES, AMAZEBALLS ?!?!
I swear it’s the bestest nasi padang I’ve had in Singapore. Worth the travel from Raffles Place MRT and the 5 min walk from Bugis Station to get to this little gem.
Worth the long queue (if you come during lunch time).
Definitely check this out when you’re in town !

Haven't been here for ages and it's still as good as during my internship days.

The closest to Indonesian’s “Jajanan Pasar” aka variety of kueh that you can get in Singapore.

Latest food craving satisfied! Almost every table here at Hjh Maimunah Restaurant had a plate of this and you'll know why when you tear apart the tofu to a delightful crackle!

The crispy top and substantial tahu portion was shiooook, especially when dunked into the dark sauce. While the generous gravy was slightly gloopy and sweet, it still was one of the better tahu telurs I've had. 😛
