This place has since become one of my go-to-places for lunch for qq noodles and nice Hong Kong styles noodles and congee. Recently they’ve been experimenting with some variants i really enjoyed this new prawn noodle-ish dish. Huge prawn wantons atop wanton noodles with a nice, al dente spring to them and two large prawns served with a rich (but not heavy) broth - this is exactly a cross between really good prawn noodles and really good wanton noodles. The fried shallots give textural contrast to the dish, while the sweetness of the prawns and the intense umami in the soup really brings the flavors in the dish together. The chilli sauce provided on the table seemed to have dried shrimps ground into it, so you can add that to your noodles for an extra burst of spice and umami. Much love to this place. #burpple

A pocket-friendly lunch option in the heart of orchard! If you love vinegar/sour stuff, this is a great choice! I love how the springy noodles goes so well w the vinegar & they are definitely not shy w the vinegar which gives you a great kick! Paired w the soft, chewy, mochi-like beef tendons ❤️❤️ the soup served on the side also packs full of flavor! Just look at that rich brown color, unlike the usual faint chicken wanton soup, you know there's extra love in there!

Hong Kong Wonton Noodles has a new branch at Ion Orchard (#B4-54). It was not a surprise that the food doesn't tastes quite close to the authentic HK "hou hou mei" (tasty in Cantonese) because it is open under Taste of Japan Group, one of its restaurants includes Itacho Sushi.

The noodles @ HKWN are not as springy and they have the alkaline aftertaste. Wontons were too peppery, the fillings in the prawn dumplings were underseasoned and the soup was not flavorful enough. There were just too many missing HK elements here. Luckily, the only saving grace of this meal was the stewed beef brisket. Not that they were fantastic but it was good enough to outshine the rest.

Hope to see and taste improvements in their food since HKWN has a more extensive menu and bigger portion compared to Mak's Noodles. Well, Mak's Noodles still wins hands down in the yummilicious department. 😋

Been there thrice and their 冬粉 is always unavailable😑 However, I will still definitely go back as their food is not only wallet friendly but it’s also delicious👍🏻
