Even though they had stopped serving their Kway chap, their braised duck itself was worth a visit

Their braised sauce was rather savory and totally penetrated the duck meat. The part I loved about their duck was that it wasn't too fatty and the spiced used didn't overpowered the duck natural flavor. I wanted to try their duck congee but it was sold out so I had settled with Kway teow soup. The soup was lacking in taste so I added the braised sauce

2 plates of duck rice and 1 plate of pig ears. Price wise, it's amongst the cheap and good ones.. @SGD3 per plate and also SGD3 for the plate of pig ears, nice and crunchy. They usually have a long Q. Here's the background on this #TeochewBraisedDuck and #KwayChap stall, started since 1960s from a street stall.. Huang Fu was originally named "Yi Ji" operated by Ng Ah Kow back in the 1960s.. The name "Yi Ji" symbolised the owner's son, Ng You Ee, whereby 'Ee' have the same pronunciation as 'Yi'. Like many street hawker, Ah Kow moved into hawker centre in 1970s after the completion of development for Blk 226, and handed over the stall to his son to continue.. In 1980s, You Ee decided to change the name to "Huang Fu" to bring better prosperity (Fu) to the family's name (Huang)... Today, Huang Fu is operated by You Ee's eldest son and his wife..
